Murdoc's Internet Archive Music Suggestions

  1. Lately to find music to listen to I've been just randomly picking bands off of the live music archive http://www.archive.org/details/etree and I thought I'd share some of the good ones I find. All these bands give permission to have recordings available on the archive, usually available for download there too.

First, what I've been listening to in my car lately-
The Blue Method Live at Mountain Sports Festival, Carrier Park on 2008-06-01

The Blue Method is a funk/soul/jam band. There's a lot of talent here, but the bass and the sax really stand out. If you like Van Morrison, they cover the song Caravan in this concert and do a really good job, with a really good chill sax part at the end. Right after Caravan, Things I'll Do is a really good track too. Honestly, the only song from this concert I wasn't really impressed with was Other Family. I'm sure many people here at the city will also enjoy their cover of Pink Floyd's Have A Cigar.

Enjoy, I'll post a couple more when I get time.
