Movies should have a shuffle option

  1. You know how music playlists have an option to shuffle the sings and play in random order? at least they used to, I'm not sure if modern devices still do that. Anyway, there should be an option, when you play a movie on DVD or streaming, to shuffle it and have the scenes rearranged in random order

  2. Might be hard to make sense of, or follow the plot, don’t cha think?

  3. Sounds like it would be an interesting way to watch a movie.
You'd never know what was coming next.

It would probably get old pretty quickly though.

  4. Season 1 of the Witcher was like that. It was horrible.

  5. I think if a filmmaker made their film purposely to translate the theme/message clearly, whether it’s shuffled or not would be cool.

So maybe you have 20 options to shuffle, and each shuffle option you choose shows the plot in a different way but with somewhat similar outcomes. Cool concept.

  6. Momento was probably the closest movie to that since it was intentionally played backwards. All the scenes were shown in reverse order and it was actually a pretty cool way of doing it.

  8. It's definitely a good movie. The ending (or beginning lol) is a real shocker.

  9. there are several TV shows I watch, including This Is Us, which I am currently binge-watching over again, that utilize flashbacks. Some episodes of This Is Us get quite complex with the switching between various time periods and tying together thematically different stories taking place in different time periods. They probably still plan the order of the scenes with purpose but it still shows how non-chronological storytelling can add some meaning. I think there are ways one could tell a story so that rearranging the scenes create a new effect and still have the story make sense

  10. Seinfeld has an episode like that. The DVD has the option to play the scenes chronologically and it is still good that way but it is better backwards because there are a lot of jokes in it that utilize the backwards format, like having a lollipop get progressively bigger
