Movie Stars

  1. I've always wondered why you always see movie stars "taking a stand" against "poverty in Darfur" or "homelessness." Like what do they know about it? All they do is pretend to be someone else and make millions from it.

I think it's such a joke that we have to listen to these sometimes talentless actors to be aware of global crisis's.

  2. Because our society looks up to those types of people, therefore, when they promote something like stopping world hunger or shit like that, people listen.

    ....sometimes.

  3. The American public doesn't give a fuck about the world, and the media does its best job to present a misguided, lopsided, idealistic yet unrealistic view of the world. As such people don't know about the crises that are occuring unless they look for real news online.

The actors and movie stars already know that they are misdirecting attention away from the terrible economy and housing situation in the US; there is nothing they can do to make the country any better, at least not in any way that the government won't go and fuck up on its own, so isn't it a good thing that these pointlessly rich people (meaning they are rich for no reason) are philanthropic with their money?

A lot of people (for some reason) idolize actors and actresses, and this is a good way to shed some light on the unfortunate situations taking place across the globe

  4. who cares what they know about it? at least it is raising some kind of awareness.
