Mouldy Bud?

Discussion in 'Apprentice Marijuana Consumption' started by Psyched Bud, Feb 23, 2016.

  1. Hey Grasscity. About a month ago I bought some pretty average bud from a friend of mine. I bought 7 grams, and I have 2 grams left.

I can't smoke the remaining 2 grams at the moment because my school does random drug tests. I'm waiting until the school holidays to smoke remaining bud. The holidays are a month away.

So if I smoke it on the first day of holidays it will be about 2 months old. Now, 2 months is a long time to store bud, right?

From what I understand, weed can last a long time when stored properly. But see, I don't think I did store it right. I (stupidly) ground the weed up on the day I bought it.

I'm keeping it in a small plastic bag inside a pill bottle. I think the bottle is airtight. Now here's the thing, when I first put it in the bottle, I didn't open it every day to let the moisture out. So when I opened it a week after putting it in the bottle, the inside of the bottle was moist. That's not good, right?

And I've heard that grinding your bud up makes it go bad faster. If I look at my weed real close I can see small amounts of white stuff. I dont think these are trichnomes but I can't tell for sure.

So my question is, is weed that's been ground up for 2 months and has spent about a week in a bottle without being dried out first, smokable? Should I even risk it?

  2. You are going to be completely fine traveler. lol

  3. If the bud was cured properly before you ground it up and put it in the bag/bottle, it should be just fine. If it wasn't cured properly and had too much moisture in it when you stored it, you may have developed some mold. Without a picture, it's kind of hard to tell. I doubt it was too awfully moist or it wouldn't have ground up to begin with. My guess is that your bud is just fine to smoke. The only way to know for sure is go home and light some up on holiday. Enjoy!! TWW
