Mother Clone.

Discussion in 'First Time Marijuana Growers' started by ThusFar, Jan 27, 2010.

  1. Swim wanted to know if it was possible to take a clone from a vegetating plant then flower the vegetating plant, let the clone grow take a clone from that when its old enough then repeat the process over and over.

Anyone else use this method to keep a constant supply of clones, instead of having one mother plant to maintain.

would this process affect the genetics of the plant?

Hope i made some sort of sense, let me know if you want me to clear anything up.

    Thanks.

  2. I believe that the plant after a certain amount of generations dies out in potency, but I could be wrong. I believe that magic number is 7.

  3. Well then SWIM should create a GC account and ask for himself, shouldnt he :p

SWIM doesnt get much help around here sorry, and i dont think the cops will really care if you were just asking a qeustion for him, or yourself.. the post came from Your Ip address, not SWIMs.

  4. You can clone a clone, and clone a clone, and clone a clone but, you have to remember that your clones are the same age as the origional mother.

IDK about reduced potency it think there might be a difference of opinon on this. I have gone through up to four generations before life changes have forced me to start over and I haven't experienced a decrease in potency. 7 generations may be the magic number.

  5. Good point, i guess theres no real difference from my method to keeping one mother and periodically taking clones from one mother plant. Maybe i'm wrong, can any experienced growers comment on this please.

    Thanks.
