Mothballs and Garden

Discussion in 'Growing Marijuana Outdoors' started by BigMedicine, Jun 14, 2012.

  1. Has anyone tried using mothballs in their garden? I had a problem with a fox or coon or some small varmint digging up my girls. I put mothballs near my plants and so far so good. I guess what I want to know is, will this stuff hurt my plants? Thanks in advance for the replies!

  2. Man, I tried all sorts of stuff to stop the animals around me. The only thing that worked 100% of the time, was metal fencing.

  3. I use mothballs but that's because we have tons Of snakes in the south, idk of they deter coons or possums though.

  4. napthalene, the active ingredient in mothballs, has potential as a carcinogen as well as causing hemophilia(destruction of red blood cells) in some people. try camphor instead if you really need repellant.

  5. I think all you need to do is spread them around in a 20 yard circle, maybe a bit more and you would never have to worry about them effecting ur plants
