I often hear of people saying they wake up in the middle of the night, terrified. Overwhelmed with negative energy, and they can't move or scream. Sometimes they may see a figure, or feel like someone is sitting on them. You know what this is? Sleep paralysis. During REM sleep, our brain shuts off movement to our body so we don't "act out" our dreams in real life. Sometimes, we may wake up during this stage, and our body doesn't immediately restore movement, causing us to feel paralyzed. Our brain is also still partially dreaming, causing strange visions and feelings. Now you know. Sleep paralysis stories, share them in this thread.
I one time woke up with this sort of white sticky substance all over my sheets, I came to the conclusion that it must of been ghost ectoplasm
I only experience sleep paralysis when I'm really tired, I'm trying really hard not to fall asleep, but I dose off anyway. My mind thinks I'm still awake, but I'm actually half asleep. That's when I scare myself because I think my house is haunted or whatever because crazy stuff is happening before my eyes, and I can't move. And that's not even the scary part. The scary part is when you're able to move again, and you're trying to figure out wtf just happened.
Hey, guys, I had this dream that I was kissing my English teacher. And when I woke up, I was stuck to my bed.
I had a dream that I was a male prostitute and the guy who bought my time told me to jack off, so I did. Am I gay? edit: Should probably add, "jk."
Haha...Reminds me of this one time King James and me were just wanderin' the mortal world, we were floatin' through, ah, fuck had to be somewhere near Joliet, Illinois. And James looked at me and was like "We should so fuck with these people in their sleep!" Fuckin' King James, little practical joker...So yeah, more than likely it is just one of the God's floatin' in front of you tryin' to fuck with ya. Awww...Fuckin' good times!
So you're all of the sudden the magical, mystical expert on this? Even when scientists admit we still have no idea why we sleep? Or the cause of nightly hallucinations? Thanks for imparting the all-knowing on us, but no thanks.

A simple google search would probably help you on that one. But instead, I will this time: Why do we Sleep? Scientists are Still Trying to Find Out – News Watch Why We Sleep Is Still a Mystery

Man sleep paralysis is scary shit. Happened to me recently and I didn't know wtf was going on lol I couldn't even breathe.
Its actually called "Lucid Dreaming" and yes, from experience, its scary as shit. It can also be self induced.
it's sometimes pretty fun to go into sleep paralysis on command, usually you can go into a lucid dream straight after or sometimes people can purposely have out of body experiences if your in sleep paralysis
It's happened to me a few times more recently. Mostly when I sleep in. I'll initially wake up and go back to sleep. I'll either lucid dream or have the sensation that Satan trying to rape me. (Heavy weight/load on chest, etc.) It's kind of fun. I might want to try to see if I could direct or do something with that heavy load. Maybe I could try talking to it? But if it answered back menacingly I might lose my grasp on sanity. Perhaps it's my subconscious trying to rape me.
