In my opinion one of the coolest works of art ever created. I have always found mental "disabilities" interesting, and this just blew me away. This guy drew rome, from memory, nearly perfectly. check it out: Autistic savant draws Rome from memory. [VIDEO]
very impressive, most autistic people are very good at something, like this kid i went to school with was autistic but was also a musical genius, he knew everything about every band, every instrument, knew really in-depth music theory, and also knew every type of bird call you could possibly hear.
I knew of a similar autistic kid. When I was still seeing a teacher for drums he also had a student that was doing xylophone, piano and a couple others and he was incredibly talented. He could also hear any note played and instantly know what it was. He could replay something he just heard for the first time practically perfect.
I used to work with an autistic kid while I was in college that could put puzzles together with lightning efficiency. It was ridiculous to watch and it was one of the few times he seemed completely calm and at peace with the world...
My younger brother's autistic. He's pretty awesome. At the moment he hasn't expressed any really special talents, although as a kid he would memorise all our family friend's phone numbers. You could ask him about anyone he knew and he could recite their phone number. They get obsessed with these sorts of things. It seems to interest them.
That's really amazing! It makes me happy that these people can find joy in things such as these ones. Many of them can do one or two things 100 times better than any person without mental disabilites.
I learned about this guy in Biology - His name is Stephen Wiltshire. He's done a shit ton of other cities too.. amazing stuff.
That was crazy. Autistic people, get some harsh shit thrown their way. This fella should throw a fundraiser, draw shit and let people bid on it, for autism or whatever. Just a thought.
