i have recently switched over and decided to try things out with led lighting the experiment is going to be in a 4x4 tent i have the light about 2 ft from my canopy and was wondering if anybody had any useful ideas for keeping my light concentrated on my plants and not having it also light up the top half of my grow tent that needs no light so kind of like an idea for a reflector or something like that?? any idea would be greatly appreciated
Move the light down a little closer. depending on how your plants react, keep moving it closer till u have the coverage u want. I started my light about 2ft from the canopy and over time I figured out my plants are good with the light about 8 inches away.
At seedlings I've had my LED down to 6" above the plants, then slowly raised up once started growing. My average height once plant growing is usually about 10 to 12" above the plant.
Thanks for the info ginger. Right now I have some seedlings under cfls(NL autos) but I have a couple bubba kush bag seeds I will run from start to finish under my led once my current tent grow wraps up. What are u growing Artt?
What kind of LED light are you using? By the time it reflects off of what you put above it and back down to the plants, the LED light that is lost through the top will almost be worthless. But if it's a LED bulb I would get a reflector. I tried to keep mine about a foot away from the plants.
