Alright well right now my friend and I have 4 plants (sex undetermined) growing....we now only have 66 watts of compact flourescent light total. We have just started 12/12. I told him okay so we need to go pick up this 150 watt h.p.s. light. He is totally in refusal...he supples half the money and he doesnt want to spend the money on it. So i told him if we flower with 66 total watts of compact flourescent light we wont get shit for buds they will be skimpy as hell and we will get next to nothing...im telling him if we dont get this h.p.s. light for flowering we might as well not even bother flowering...hes like oh yeah well if they wont flower good with this much light why are they growing with this much light...well i just want all of you to respond and tell this dumbass that we need to pick up the h.p.s. light because 66 watts of c.f.l. = shit for flowering 4 plants. thanks and i posted this thread to convince him....so please respond with ur 2 cents.
best case scenario you are looking at scraggly wispy "buds" if you want to call them that. Splurge on the HPS. It will be well worth it
haha 66 watts of florestent wouldnt be enough to even VEG the plants. shit. your buds arnt gonna be worth my shit if you flower with that. hell even 150 HPS really isnt even enough for 4 plants. You should shoot for 300 to 400 watt HPS. The general rule is 100 watts of light per plant, even more than that if your using anything other than HPS or MH (like 150-200 instead of 100) If you want to yield anykind of good bud at all, get the 150, or higher if possible.........
well...now maybe my friend will believe me.....but yeah im gonna get the 150 cuz its the cheapest and most convineient and i dont actually know how many of the plants will turn out to be female..could only be 1...then id have like 216 watts for 1 lady....
dude if you would have done some research you could of found out that a cfl can produce a good plant For all you non believers check this out Look at the 3rd pic its called gi jane i think and to all you hps affording people good for you but understand that there are people that want to grow weed also that cant afford an expensive ass light and i know econlight website has em cheap but still cfl or 4 ft floros work just as good in my opinion but soon ill be using a hps 2000 watt ( 2 1000 wat lights in one fixture) and then ill proally say Fuck floro's but for now dont hate
yeah but that dosent take into account that Vokal420 is a fricken god... he has it planed and those arent tiny cfl's ither there the huge kind...... and the fact remains that he would do hella better with a 100 watt hps than any amount, well not any amount, but better than 66 watts of cfl's
Well, if he doesn't want to invest in an hps, you can always use higher wattage CFLs... definately not that much more expensive, and it'll be way worth it... For 4 plants, I would want at least 150watts..
I thought the poll was asking if the buds would be better with more light... so I clicked yes... Definately go with the hps if you can. If you can't convince the idiot that you know more than he does about growing weed, just get MORE cfl's... And higher wattage, too. The more light, the better.
Yeah, deff. get that HPS, although you would do even better with more wattage. 150 watts for 4 plants isnt really enough, but it will do. dont expect to yeild very much. and.. how did your veg go with only 66 wats of cfl for 4 plants??? you must have some weeny looking plants =P
