this is the story... my mate had a plant that he bred from nothern lights and a white widdow crossed with something else (sorry can't remember) and it was potent... it was cloned and crossed with the seeds from the original plant to make seeds for me..... see all that hard work... and I want to make a mother of this and take clones to go quicker through flowering.... blah blah blah.... get the idea?? this is my 4th or 5th grow.... depends if you count the 1st grow lol and I just don't understand what's happening here... I've done exactly what I done to grow all my other babies and this one does this... pics to come.... any ideas anyone.... and before anyone says change ur soil and whatnot... its mothernatures soil and plenty of other weeds grow in it.......
I know you said not to say change the soil, but that really looks compact and like it doesn't give much oxygen to the roots. Also, seeing as that happened before you fed anything, and nutrients didn't help, it's probably a ph issue. It's almost always a ph issue. For soil make sure your ph is between 6.3-6.8 aim for that range, your plant will be able to uptake all the food you're giving it. Once you have the PH in range, just give it a light dose of veg nutes, making sure to keep in range. It looks like it's just got nitrogen and phosphorous deficiencies.
I gatherd nitrogen deff because of white leafs and phosphor deff because of red stems... ph? I forgot tht one... its been a while since I've grown
If you don't have one I highly reccomend getting a digital PH meter. They are pretty inexpensive, I think I paid like 20-30 dollars tops for mine, and it's been working for years. Check out places like amazon. PH is definitely one of the most important things required for the plant to grow. Nutrients can get locked out from the plant in certain PH ranges, which can look like you have a deficiency even if there is plenty of it in the soil. That's a good chart to look at for making sure your plant is getting everything it needs.
now I remember ... same soil... same water ... same dose of nute plus 1 cap of vinegar for 5 l of water was the cure to this... this is why my first lot died I think
PH strikes again. It's almost always PH. vinegar is good for dropping the ph, personally I don't find myself using it too often though. Usually my nutrient mixture leaves it in 4.8~ ph and use baking soda to buffer to hydroponic ph range.
I heard that electronic ph meters give faulse readings after a while..... I allways do it the ol fashioned way... test runoff in a swimming pool ph test
Well, I use a reputable brand (Hanna), and I've had no problems with mine. But to test your PH, mix your nutes with the water, then test the solution after it sits out for about a day after mixing (the ph balances differently in water than in the concentrate bottle) and then test that and make adjustments as needed. A lot of people suggest testing the runoff water too. I however don't do this and have never really had any issues, the only time I'd do this is if I had a stunted plant and I couldn't figure out the problem, it could be the medium is altering the ph. Personally I've found with my experience that as long as I make sure that what I put in is balanced correctly, then the plant will thrive.
would you say that is a good nute to put in?? I know I could be using better.... pro nutes with part a+b, but that's what I have in the loft
Well, plants don't know the difference between the brands of food, so it's really about the elements that it contains. As long as it has the nutrients it requires the plant doesn't care or know where it came from. I don't know the brand you're using, but from the N-P-K, it sounds like that's a good veg feed. For flowering you're going to want something much lower N with higher P and K. The only thing I have to say besides that is that ratio is kind of low on P, which could be why you are showing deficiencies, but first make sure the PH is proper before worrying about anything like that.
keep following to see the mother plant grow!! just found some of my old pete mix in a few old pots so I've ditched tht soil and now I got it in some good soil.... photos to come in a few days when she's feeling a bit better... I hope she's not a male.... well see...
well... I've managed to sex her... and I've been busy with all the ph shit and whatnot... changed to pot... much better soil now.. broke the root.. lol... thought it was gonna die... she was yellow and droopy but she's handled it all very well and this is what she doing now.... the caterpillar that ate it had to have been a lucky caterpillar because she's sproted of into 3!!!
