More than 1 plant in a bucket?

  1. I'm trying to think of ways to maximize my growing space without spending a bunch of money on new plant pots. The ones I use currently are 5 gal, I think, they allow for decent size but theres room for more.

I have a couple plastic storage containers. They look like big tupperware. They're very deep and two will use up the entire floor space in my grow area. Would it be a good idea to plant 3 plants in each bucket or will I still run into problems with the roots strangling eachother?

Ideally I'd switch to hydro, but it bewilders me.

  2. You can buy nursery pots for like 2 dollars each. Is that too much money for you?! You give a little and you get ALOT. just keep that in mind.

  3. Unfortunately all the greenhouse stuff is closed down because winters approaching. The selection at the garden shop is really terrible too, I couldn't get rockwool anywhere .

The only thing I can buy until next spring rolls around, are terrible looking white pots costing far more than they're worth.

  4. you could probably put in a divider and have two plants. tie them down so they're growing away from each other and you'd probably be ok although i wouldn't really recommend multiple plants in one container.

  5. Now I have seen everything - a grower who even resents spending a few cents on pots.

    How mean can you get?
