i wasnt sure where to post this cause im new but i have a feeling people will find this interesting i have a freind that not only trains his plant but also puts a mirror under the plant, this reflects the sun to some leaves that the sun does not reach normaly and since he has been doing this he has yeilded twice as much and the plant grows twice as thick. Also it seems to make the plant grow taller. He had a plant that was over 9 feet tall that yeilded just under 3 pounds.
Wow 9 feet with a yeild under 3 pounds? sounds like a really good growing technique, I will def. have to try that when i get a few seeds from my dealers son. Do u have a pic of his plant before and a yeild photo? I would really like to check it out sounds interesting...
unfortunatly i did not have a digital camera at the time and i didnt think it was a good idea to get the pictures developed at walgreens if you know what i mean but this was a few months ago, i have a digital camera now and will definitly take pictures of his next grow.
Any training you do to your plant will definitely increase light to lower budsites and increasing yield. A mirror will reflect light yes, but I would suggest using either Mylar or something painted flat white first. Mirrors tend to reflect light imperfectly and you will have hot spots and cold spots reflected (more light or less light). Mylar is made to reflect evenly and very well, while flat white reflects almost as good and diffuses the light better than a mirror or chromed surfaces . . giving you no hot or cold spots, just even light distribution. It's not that mirrors reflect light unevenly, its that the glass tends to soak up the light. Whereas with Mylar, you will have around 98% of the light reflected back towards the plant.
hahaha I worked in the photo lab at walgreens..great stoner job. Good call not getting them developed there, they might report your ass..but it's the only place in town to get nudy pics developed! hahaha Nothing better than being stoned off your ass, eating cheetos, and checking out nudy pics!
Mirrors do reflect light 'unevenly' and yes they do absorb a small amount of light too.Mirrors reflect wots called a 'real image' which like Gg said has cold spots and warm spots.Flat-white Is the best at diffusing light and giving equal reflection, but mylar has a higher reflectivity value. CWL
Mylar is a sort of bright white plastic foil. Not sure however where to get it. Probably grow or head shops will sell it or maybe you can find some in garden centers or hardware stores.
