No, hybrids were. As a matter of fact
GMO will be able to isolate long lost DNA. It will be exciting times when monsanto does their magic. I hope seed prices do not go out the roof though. All that r and d is not cheap.

Just in case u missed it, Monsantijuana

The story is fake as the site it came from.

  2. Hybrids were loosely "GMO." Genetically modified through selective breeding.. Not through intrusive placement of non-native genes into the DNA of such plant... New age GMO through Monsanto is not something to be messed around with. I don't know how anyone could support them. Dangerous shit.

  3. Every bit of science proves u r wrong. GMOs do in fact improve on nature as nature in itself is only worried about survival.
With gmos proven track record I am surprised of the shill against them.
My concern would only be in the pricing as I have no doubt that a gmo product would be not only safer, but taste better and revive strains thouGHt long gone due to the slow and inaccurate interbreeding methods used by growers.

  4. Can you please state the science that proves me wrong? I've done countless years of research and written many papers on GMOs and their effects not only on us, but the environment as a whole. And frankly, I could show you science on why you're wrong, and why Monsanto is wrong. Yeah, Nature is only worried about survival, so let NATURE NATURALLY do that.. When they introduced the Bt compound (GMO genes from cotton) into corn and soy beans, allergens shot through the roof. People haven't really been allergic to soy until now.. And please explain to me why the fertility of rats fed Bt GMO corn was eliminated? They literally couldn't even breed. If a population of a thousand rats is constantly given GMO food, they will become extinct in two generations.

Plain and simple, GMOs on the surface are a good idea. But they're still so new and still so unresearched we need to be careful.. There's a reason they're illegal in more than half the world.

  5. And I want you to explain to me why Monsanto is suing local farmers for land and crops just because their crop was pollinated by a GMO Crop? Seems fair. Seems legit. Did you know that if you grow GMO plants, like corn, that you literally have to give back your seeds or you'll be sued. Because that is now monsantos property. When you want to plant again, you have to buy back the seeds you just fucking grew. What a lovely company.

  6. Lol, the farmer in question was stealing seeds that had the monsanto gene and reselling them. He lost as he should have. He also signed agreements not to do what he was doing. I believe a man is only as good as his word and this farmer is a thief and liar on his best day.

For each study u have against monsanto there are hundreds supporting it. It is a cherry picking mentality amongst the shill seekers.

  7. How do you know what case I'm referring to? There's hundreds... How was he stealing seeds from a corporation please explain? Did he go into the warehouse or their labs and steal them in the midst of night like a hooligan or what?

How do you have a study that supports Monsanto? Please elaborate. Do people have better health after consuming GMOs? You make no sense lol.

Yeah of course there's more "studies" supporting it,
Monsanto made it ILLEGAL to do research on their products. I wonder why...

  8. Here are my 2000 studies. Read the article first.
With 2000+ global studies affirming safety, GM foods among most analyzed subjects in science | Genetic Literacy Project

Too many are illiterate on gmo and are mostly corporate shills. Nature is inefficient, that is why many of the simple foods u like we're bred slowly for taste, disease resistance, vitamin content. Humans being much smarter than plants have improved all those areas.

What is ur favorite fruit? I think u r approaching this with the wrong set of lenses.

  9. U really need me to explain it? Because of countries like India who are developing their own gmo and stealing the science.

  10. And you sound like one of those people who are illiterate on GMOs. Nature is not normally inefficient. Nature is inefficient because our population is exploding and earth can't sustain the growth we are putting forth. OUR growth ISNT NATURAL. If you really want to "feed the world" go vegan, that'll make a real difference. I'm not even vegan, but I'm as organic as I can be. And I ALWAYS will be.

    Fuck Monsanto

  11. I am a vegan by proxy.
U do not understand nature very well.

One of the areas gmo help is through reducing the water required by plants to survive. If u cared one bit about sustainability u would stop here. Cannabis is one of the most wasteful plants for water requirements. Monsanto could vastly improve that precious resource.

It takes a millisecond to type YOU instead of U. I understand nature very well. I won't even bring in college education at this point but I promise you my understanding of nature is beyond average. If I cared one bit about sustainability I would stop? I don't care if GMO foods made you fly. I still wouldn't eat them purposefully.. You sound like the type of person that would support the pharmaceutical industry and their pills with thousands of side effects to treat one ailment. It's the same logic. GMO foods have documented negative effects on our health and environment. More cons than pros in my opinion. We've been fine the last thousands of years. Why go and fuck with DNA now? Cannabis isn't wasteful on water if you take into account how fast the damn plant grows... All that plant matter in 2-4 months is pretty proportionately normal to the amount of water used.

I'm out before this gets more mental ️.

  16. Don't they put pesticides in the seeds? :(

  17. Define pesticide. Because what gmos do is place natural insect defences in plants that have limited ability or weak amounts of natural defences against insects known to destroy those crops. The amount of pesticides we used to use were amazing, now we improve nature to help poor farmers yield crops that would otherwise feed for more bugs than humans.

  18. But who are you to call its defense system weak? Species differentiate among one another.

That's like taking our DNA and injecting a compound into our RNA from let's say, a cow, that we weren't born with and don't know the effects of.

    Sounds smart.
    Sarcasm intended.

And pro GMO I can tell you kinda don't know your shit... One of the compounds injected into the DNA allows the plants to be DOUSED with pesticides and herbicides like roundup (which Monsanto also owns) without being hurt... Before, they would douse the plants and weeds, effectively killing both. Now with stronger plants, They can just soak the fuck out of them because they won't die, but everything around it will. So theoretically we are using MORE pesticides and herbicides to combat this... With increased pesticides we are starting to see cases of "super pests" that have bred and can survive this dousing of pesticides as well. So now we not only have plants non native and foreign to nature, but now we have super bugs to go along with it. Now what happens to the animals that eat these super bugs? Or better yet, the humans that eat the super plants (us)?

Both DOUSED in herbicides and insecticides and pesticides.

I don't want to find out first hand, so I'll stay the fuck away from GMOs. Thank you.

    Carter for president.

  19. You can't call them natural insect defenses if they're taking it out un-naturally. That is no longer natural. Now if these two species are compatible to cross-breed and get similar results, that's a different story. But no. We go in, being the humans we are, and fuck everything up.
