    Well let me give some background first I am an 18 year old high school student and have been smoking for about a year now but I have been caught by mom once already two months ago. She argued that it was a gateway drug. Which was basically all of her argument. I had nothing to back myself up other than that it helps my back pain which is legit just not by a doctor( which she ask why I didn't tell her so I could go to the doctor but I know the will give me shit that doesn't work and I don't want to pop prescribed pills or anything because weed works so well with me and i can even function on it). So after that I just went on with my life of course still smoking cause my back was hurting a lot. So finally here is the problem today after school I picked up some dank and I smoked some and saved the rest for later went back home, his my shit, then went to my schools football game. I come back home and everything in my room was not like how I left it like some shit has been moved thrown around. Then I check my stash which is gone then my lighters stash which is gone everything is gone. And the weird part is that my mom (of course drunk as fuck) acted like nothing happened she was just cool. So now I don't know what the fuck to do. Do I say something or do I just wait till she confronts me if she confronts me? And I am definitely not gonna stop smoking because my back hurts way to much when i stop smoking for awhile. I am also not a pothead for the reasons that I don't revolve around weed it revolves around me and that I only smoke on Friday afternoons and on Saturdays. So someone please help me me anything to just debunk anyone her arguments. Please and thank you.
    P.S. this is my first post and I am hella tired so please excuse my horrific grammar and punctuation.

    Say "hey mom im 18 so can i have my weed back?" oh and also, if she wants you to keep it out of the house thats fine. It is her house so respect her rules but she cant stop you from smoking, your an adult and can make your own decisions.

    Tell her to stop being a hypocrite.alcohol is way worse than bud.the gateway drug argument is retarded.try to explain to her that in todays world there is no excuse for ignorance.

    Basically, its their house, their rules, and even if they're wrong you have to respect them or else they'll never be able to respect you. Unless of course they're so completely out of line in terms of not only parents but human beings, then they don't deserve anyone's respect, although based on your post I don't think you're in this situation. They pay the bills, and allow you to live there for free, so therefore if they don't wish to allow you to consume an illegal drug in their house then you should obey them, they pay the bills for the ownership of the home after all.

    She may not have much of an argument, but that could benefit you considering that she hasn't backed up her opinion with that much ignorance, making it easier to persuade her on the benefits of cannabis. Even if she's committing a double standard by also consuming a drug (and a way worse drug at that), its legal, and you don't have that much of an argument calling her a hypocrite.

    Education is power, and there are an endless array of benefits that cannabis possesses. Start her on the road to knowledge, and she may decide to get behind the wheel on her own.

    OP - Can you try to space out your sentences a little in future?

    I sympathise with your situation but I find how you've posted this...just...irritating to the eyes, and I don't really want to read through the specifics in this format.

    Good luck with your situation though.
    I'm sure if you act like an adult or adjust your habit/storage place accordingly, you'll be able to overcome.

    I would move out and never visit her. When she calls to ask why, just say that you dont come around that often anymore because you smoke pot, which she does not like, and she drinks, which you do not like. If she wants to see you, her attitude will change.

    A friend of mine who is 22, but still lives with his mom, also got his weed jacked by his mother because she didnt want him to smoke. But the guys stepfather is an alcoholic who drinks 24/7, I told him to drink a beer the next morning at breakfast because that's allowed in the house. His mother gave his weed back and they made a deal about when he could smoke and when not.
