Moldy weed

Discussion in 'Growing Marijuana Outdoors' started by Jpease91, Aug 6, 2018.

  1. Hey guys I’ve been getting lots of rain, and the humidity has been high with not much wind. Do you guys think this mold or what?

  3. Don't smoke that.

  4. Is that from not having enough airflow?

  5. Damn, painful to watch. It’s probably ruined, however, I’ve heard that u can use dry ice and collect loads of high, middle og low grade kief to make hash or oils! Do some research

  6. You better cut that off and quickly search the whole plant and remove anything touching it. Telltale sign is a dying leaf in an otherwise healthy looking cola.
Make sure you are gentle too - the spores can spread real easy. Some guys wrap the part they're cutting off in a bag before the cut, so the spores are more contained. You're going to have to be extra careful now even drying the good looking stuff, it's more likely to mold up or rot while drying and curing now. Best luck

  10. Thanks man I appreciate it. How do I prevent this from happening on my next grow?

  11. Hope Papa don't mind I'm tagging in -

Besides keeping your plant healthy, a simple preventative is to use a product like Green Cure (potassium bicarbonate -based), and when it rains during flowering, shake the water off your plant. If your colas get real dense and big, try opening them up a bit with your hands to get better airflow. I kinda hate big dense colas, besides having mold or rot to worry about, the insides look underdeveloped. The outside surfaces of buds contain all the resins and the outsides of buds always look bomb. Not the case with huge colas whose insides never see light.
    Happy gardening

  12. I grow my plants almost in a wind tunnel. Have and had my go around with fungi .
I spray my plants every 5 days with Actinavate during veg cycle and one month into flowering .
The last 6 weeks is on the plant and the actinavate that makes the plant resist getting powdery mildew and or mold .

There is very few things that can be used to kill fungi when the plant is in flowering without making the weed worthless .

As suggested cut off the rotting buds .and put some air on the plants .

Last resort UV-C light kills everything single celled , if the light doesn't kill the fungi the deadly ozone UV-C lighting emits will.
It will kill you and your pets .. and your plant .
Next step in UV rays is x rays or light emitting radiation .
UV-C lighting has been being used in horticulture for decades .
I have a 4x8 tent 35 watt UV-C light , I turn the light on for one minute per day with all the fans off, and the UV-C light or ozone still stuns and wants to kill my plants .
My light is set up on a timer and I go out side for 15 minutes while the light is on and away from the deadly ozone .
You can actually smell the ozone .
This going to burn and stun your plants, but You might be able to harvest at least part of your crop .
