Mold

Discussion in 'Marijuana Consumption Q&A' started by BlazedPlatypus, Jun 2, 2013.

  1. How long does it take for mold to grow on weed?  I've got my bud in a (seemingly) airtight pill bottle, inside a baggie, inside another baggie, which I'm sure aren't airtight.  My concern is that my stash is in my golf bag, which is in my garage, exposed to the elements.  Being in the south, it is humid and hot, especially around summertime (now).  Do I need to worry about mold? I'm going on vacation soon and I need to store it for two weeks. Am I good?

  2. Depends on how much moisture in in the container, I've had stuff mold after about two days, but only with very fresh, moist weed.

  3. Mold can form within a few hours if the conditions are right.

  4. I wouldn't leave it in the garage for two weeks unless it was in a glass mason jar.

When you open the golf bag do you smell any traces of weed?

  5. I wouldn't store it in the garage during a Florida summer ...even in a pill bottle. You'll notice the packets that come w/ meds say to store them in a cool dry place, even in the bottle.

Na bro you'll be fine..... but depending on what kind of bud it is(regs, mids, meds..) and how much of a tolerance you have for stale smoke cause it sounds like it will get stale that way! I haven't had to hide my meds in a long long time haha!! But if I was going to, it would be inside very well sealed so it stays somewhat fresh... stay up n medicated fellow growers!!

    lol weed doesn't go stale...

  8.
Yes it does. I've had some dry ass stale weed, and it's much harsher and gross tasting.

Yes and no. It doesn't go stale like food does but it will lose its flavor and taste etc if left out for a while.

  10. glass jar with a couple cotton balls should help

  11. That's it drying out...not going stale...

    'Yall need a dictionary..

  12.
What happens to bread when you leave it out?

It dries out and gets stale.

Again, you need a dictionary. Dry and stale do not mean the same thing..

Edible things go stale. Plant's do not.

  14. Weed can go stale, it's palatability is affected when you leave it out too long. It's not limited to just food. Tobacco products can go stale, such as cigarillos and papers.

  15. Honesltly if you're gonna leave it in the humidity, I dunno, could be (like Danbridge said) a few hours and could be a few weeks.

Keep it in an airtight jar or container, in a cool, dark, and dry place.

If you HAVE to keep it in a humid spot, those extra bags probably aren't really helping.

Lol yeah, it sorta does matter.

When a food is stale, it is much more likely to mold than something that is dried out.

Although weed can't go stale so I guess it doesn't really matter.

  19. It smells smokey, but that's my bowl.
