Mold spot on roots

Discussion in 'Sick Plants and Problems' started by gogettalif, Mar 15, 2023.

  1. North Lights auto in dwc 5 gal bucket, GH 2part nutes, indoor grow.

At about week6 there was an off smell coming from the plant. A few
drops of bleach to the bucket and soon the off smell subsided.
Fast forward today after chop, leaf trim and hang in drying tent. As I
begin to dispose of the remaining limbs and root I discover a mold spot,
about 1"x2" on the root of the plant.
My concern now is whether this weed is safe to smoke.
Any tips, hints or suggestions you offer will be greatly appreciated.

  2. One drop of bleach per gallon per day.
My guess in your reservoir is to warm 65 to 68 degrees F buy or make a chiller drop in chunks of ice.

You need all the rotting parts off the roots removed ......Clean the plant change the water put in bleach , get the water to the correct temp.

By the way, I'm a former woodworker and a fan of your choices of wood and their outcomes.

  4. Not black palm ,, I have some just never tried turning it. And thanks.
I bought out a custom cue makers wood inventory. and some black palm was in with the other woods.
Highly figured rare woods getting harder to find and costing allot more.
You might consider posting some of your work, I would like to see it .

  5. The flower should be fine.
An alternative to bleach that is getting more attention lately is hypochlorous acid, like Athena Cleanse. When you add bleach, you are raising ORP (oxidation reduction potential) to help fight off bad stuff. Hypochlorous raises ORP also, but without the dangers that come with bleach. In fact, you have been using hypochlorous your whole life! Our white blood cells make it. Its also one of the very few substances approved for would care. Very interesting stuff!
