One of my rockwool cubes had a green patch on top of it the other day. It has since spread to coved the top of the cube. It's bright green and its mostly attacking the top of the wool where it meets the air. What should I do??? Is it possible to get the rockwool off without damaging the plant/roots and replace with coco noir or something else?? Why did this happen? I have been keeping my water level about 1/4 inch to 1/2 inch up the bottom of the net pots/rockwool. Are you not supposed to keep the wool wet? I thought the water was meant to barely meet the bottom of the wool.
That's not mold it's algae. It can be prevented by excluding light from RW block. There are covers for this, or you can make your own.
Awesome. Thank you. Is there a specific method to go about this? You still want air getting down there right?
is there a proper way to deal with fungus? or a way to block out the light? Will it be a problem to not let the res exhaust a little around the net pots? (assuming they are covered to shield the light.)
