  2. Need pics. Could be Santa’s beard which is common in living soils it just means it’s alive and it’s good.

  5. I'm not sure if you can use it or not - probably. When you store it, leave the top open slightly to allow it to dry out before you cover for long term. Good luck.

  6. Going to give it a shot. May be wasting precious seeds but we'll see. Gonna throw some freebies in it to test it out and see.

  7. Good luck.

  8. Yeah I think what's left of my coco in my tub is gonna get that way too, thanks for the heads up lol - i'll air mine out tonight.

  9. Coco has minimal food for mold to thrive on. There’s likely some other contaminate in your tub.

Coco is often used as substrate for mushroom growing hence its mold resistance. Typically.

Properly made coco and vermiculite mix can last over a year in a sealed bucket, at field capacity (ie wet)

  11. The tub had prob a pt or 2 of FFOF left from my previous grows. But just threw the coco in with it thinking it would be a big deal. Think that could be the problem?

  12. It’s possible a dead leaf or the dead roots were the mold source for the tub. You can literally set mold on top of pure coco, and 99/100 times it won’t grow out.

  13. The reason it’s growing mold is more than likely the FFOF it chalked full of living microbes. I used a supercoco and it did this same thing I used it had no issues.

  14. The stuff on the edge of the tub doesn’t look good though.

  15. Haven’t grown boomers in a while but if you “bucket tek” your substrate (pour boiling water in bucket, leave lid on let sit for hours) it’ll pasteurize and won’t mold.

Don’t go putting cooked food in it or anything but you can about mix up whatever and bucket tek it and it’ll stay good for years.

    Could look like this :D

  17. no man, use it up, when u plant it the pH, moisture, and nutrient levels will change and will likely kill the mold.!
as long as the top of the pots r drying out the mold will die.!
