So this is my first indoor grow and I'm on day 50 of flowering. I've been using the botanicare nutrients CNS17 Ripe and just stopped using the CNS17 Bloom. Could i start adding molasses now? And is it ok to still use molasses after my last flush?
Just so you know for next time you can use molassas through the entire flowering time. I use 1 tsp to a gallon of water almost every water and feed. I'll skip a few here or there but practically everytime. Personally I would say no to using it the last week or so because you want the plant to absorb all the sugar it's stored up to create more trichs and danker bud. I think stopping the nutes sends the plant into survival mode and it frosts up by using up all the nutes it has stored up in it.
KushKing is mostly right, but you definitely can and should use molasses in the last week or so, after the final flush. While molasses does have some trace nutrients it basically isn't a nutrient feed, it's a carb/sugar boost. The reason to stop feeding at the end is so that the plant draws down its storehouse of nutes saved in the leaves and buds, nutes can make the smoke taste bad. No such concern with molasses. I use molasses throughout the entire grow. For the most part it is for feeding the beneficial microbes in the soil rather than the plant itself. Those microbes, in turn, help the plant uptake nutrients, so good to keep them thriving from day one.
