Moisturising weed?

Discussion in 'Apprentice Marijuana Consumption' started by Johnywilks, Jan 31, 2011.

  1. my weed is quite dry. So it is burning really quickly. But ive heard that you can moisturise it by putting a orange peel in a bag with it. ( but i dont have any oranges).

Is there anything else i could use ?

  2. I've always heard that but I have no idea if it works. I'd imagine you'd risk getting mold if anything. Or maybe just the weed touching the peel is wet and it smells like oranges. TBH I dont think it's worth it. Just smoke it before it gets more dry.

  3. is it ment to be hard to rip it up ? with my hands

Usually that means its sticky and moist which is good. The stickier it is, the harder it is the break up. The harder it is the break up, the danker it usually is. The dryer it is the easier it should be to break apart, the easier it is to break apart the crappier it is (Usually)

  5. ok thats good to know. But being sticky ,does that mean its actually sticky ( like there is all sticky stuff all over it) . Because mine doesnt have that?

  6. Just because weed is dry doesn't make it bad. And it doesn't have to be sticky to be good. Although sticky usually is good.

Take a mason jar, put your stuff in the bottom, put a large piece of aluminum foil over the mouth and push it down in like a bowl. Poke holes in the foil with a toothpick and put any fruit in the foil. Then put the lid on, or plastic wrap or a bag with a rubber band over it. put it in the fridge overnight. I've used drinking glasses too, but it the seal is better with a mason jar and a lid.

You can use lemon, orange, mango, cantaloupe, kiwi, be creative. Just use the skins (i guess a little pulp is ok). Remember whatever you are hydrating will take on the smell and taste of whatever you use to hydrate it. I've also heard a little talk about using whole berries or strawberry slices.
If you want to keep the natural flavor and smell of your bud you can also use celery or lettuce.

This process is occasionally used in the curing process to add aroma and flavor.

  8. dry bud is better for smoking if your bud is sticky that just meens its wet not any more dank

  9. No, it won't literally look sticky. You should be able to see white crystals on the bud, if its really good bud, you should be able to see them no problem.

  10. Well the stickyness would be those resinous trichomes busting on your fingers.. If you can see abundance of trichomes and it gets you high then congrats you have satisfactory weed. So no matter how dry my herb is, if I decide to rub my fingers all over it, they'll still be kind of sticky.

  11. If you have a quality water filter like an RO system, or access to distilled water, a few drops with your herb in a sealed jar does the trick just fine, without altering the flavor, or risking mold like the inferior fruit methods.

  12. I thought sticky means it has more resin/trichromes on it?

I would just get a mason jar or tupperware and dampen a few sheets of paper towel and lay them over the top and put the lid on with your weed inside. If your weed its dry and brittle I don't think this method is going to make it fresh again because I've tried this with really dry weed. It should moisten it up enough to notice though.

  13. I prefer to avoid using fruit ~ too juicy and it tends to transfer flavors.

I've had very good luck with tossing a baby carrot into a sack of overly dry herb. I've also used a chunk of potato (baby carrot sized).

Neither of these choices will degrade (get juicier ) at room temp like a strawberry slice or oranges. Neither have transferred flavors to the weed either.

  14. Slice of baby carrot as mentioned... do it

  15. Take a little folded square of toiletpaper and tape it on the inside of the bag then put like 2 drops of water on the tp, it will soak up the water. Then seal ur bag and wait an hour. Should be good after that. It works for me. I keep halfs moist by taping tp to the inside of Tupperware.

  16. I hate ppl that say dry weed is "shitty" weed.
That's the biggest lie I've ever heard! I prefer my cannabis bone dry.
Crumbles up finely, burns better and to me,(might be false) but to me, potency seems to be stronger.

Wet or moist weed is all fine n dandy but just seems to add weight to me and harder to light

  17. Honestly to really, really moisturize your weed you should take your lotion and squirt some on your hands. Roll it on the bud and voila! Moisturized bud.

  18. I put a piece of lettuce for a couple of hours with my weed. just dont keep it in there for too long keep on checking

  19. Any fruit or vegetable peel will work... i like lemons personally.

Have you ever heard of Humidipak??

I found these at my local clinic. For only a buck.
I'm sure you can order them online if you can't
find them anywhere. Anyways, I'm like you and
I love sticky bud, but we all know it never stays
    that way.

The packets I use hold 70% humidity and keeps
the bud really soft. No mold, no peels, no nothing.
You just pop it in there and voila, a couple hours later
you'll get some soft bud. I was skeptical at first but
it really does make it soft and you can use them for
a looooong time. When they're old they'll start to
harden but then you just pop a new one in there.

I've seen big jars in clinics that only have one packet
and all the of bud is soft...it won't go sticky but it's
better than crumbly, dry bud. Plus you'll save some of
that keif from being all over your hands... ;)
