Moisture

  1. Just a quick question, I understand I should water once the first 3-4 inches of the soil seem almost crusty dry, but I've been wondering past that how moist should it be under that first few inches?
I'd like to think that it shouldn't ever get really dry near the roots but seeing as I've been having issues with over watering/poor drainage I wanna get a feel for just how it should be.

I'm using a 4 gallon-ish plastic pot with plenty of added holes for aeration and Fox Farms ocean forest potting soil with perlite, I've transplanted one of my babies due to signs of severe over watering and it's been almost a week since it's first transplant watering, feels a bit moist near the bottom.

Any help would be greatly appreciated :smoking:

  2. With soil my understanding was to let it get dry but not dry enough that it cracks around the edge of the bucket or the plant wilts. but going wet to dry is whats best (I over watered too)
