Is amazing, I can't wait for their new album in March. Do any of you guys also like them?? And what are some other bands that have a similar sound??? PS i forgot to write about this, but my Red Hot Chili Peppers concert was Sunday night, and it was completely amazing. By far the best show I've ever been too.
i love modest mouse, i wasn't aware they had a new album coming out. thanks! also red hot chili peppers are one of my faves of all time! so good.. good taste brah
Hell Yeah man I love Modest Mouse, I own all of their albums. Their new album is gonna be amazing when it come out.
is it still considered garage bands? or that kinda music... i actually talked to jason solstiemer from the Von Bondies over email. Von Bondies are my favorite of the type.
Yep, Modest Mouse is a damn good band. There's nothing like getting super baked and listening to "Dramamine".
You see, I said there's nothing like getting baked and listening to Dramamine in the sense that there is really literally nothing else like getting baked and listening to Dramamine. Just like there's nothing like getting baked and listening to Echoes... Just like there's nothing like getting baked and listening to Jimi Hendrix... Just like there's nothing like getting baked and listening to The Beatles... Just like there's nothing like getting baked and listening to... That's what I meant, much love.
One of my closest friends believes with all his heart, that Dramamine is the greatest musical recording (beyond songs... albums... genres, etc.) ever. And I happen to believe that that title goes to Echoes Just a pet peive of mine. I dearly love Dramamine, though...
I was surprised that Johnny Marr is playing guitar for them now. I was also quite disappointed - I figured that Johnny Marr would bring a new Smiths-esque element to Modest Mouse's sound, which he pretty much did, but I don't think it really fits in too well. I personally think that the new single, "Dashboard", is a colossal failure. Compared to their older releases, that is. Warner Bros. seems to have a way of transforming great bands' music into watered-down Wal-Mart marketed trash. I guess that's a pretty harsh thing to say but I think it's true. I.E. - Did anyone hear Built to Spill's newest record? Yeah.
I really like The Moon and Antarctica, but its the only one I've heard. A good friend of mine just let me borrow the cd and its hella tight.
