Model rockets are fuckin Awesome!

Back in grade 7, I was in the model rocket club in my school. Got a good number of rockets built, and had a lot of engines. I hadn't shot any in many years. Until tonight, which was awesome. Here's what we did:

First, we smoked of course. In the park.

First, we launched this tiny one of mine that I had outfitted to hold the more powerful engines. It went up maybe 25 feet, then went no higher and did spirals/corkscrews - while trailing the rocket fire out the back. Maybe 6 or so corkscrews. Then it landed and after a few more seconds of fire, it sort of exploded >< and we never found it.

Second we shot my friends rocket, which we lost too (it was all at night btw), but it went up perfectly straight, probably 1000 feet or something. It was really awesome seeing a line of fire go into the sky.

After launching a 3rd one with similar results, we had 3 more rocket engines. One we sent up with a mini rocket that spiraled into the ground. The last two were awesome.

We put a rocket engine inside a plastic bottle and launched it. It was loud, smelly, and bright. The aftermath was an empty rocket engine sealed inside a melted glob of plastic. It was all black, and the top half was completely melted, burned, black, and unrecognizeable. we laughed our asses off.

There was also a sand-volcano someone had made. We put a rocket pointing down into the middle of the volcano. It looked so awesome, like a real volcano spewing the bright red and yellow fire out. Then the ejection charge blew the engine out of the volcano clean.


Overall, I would rate model rockets after smoking a 9.5/10. Not much has beaten it, its fuckin cool.
