mmj card for aspergers?

Discussion in 'Medical Marijuana Usage and Applications' started by wazoo42o, Jan 3, 2013.

  1. This thread is pretty far off topic this isn't a contest to see who knows more about aspergers our who has it and who doesn't i simply asked if someone tagged with aspergers can get mmj to supposedly treat it because that sounded just as strange to me as well.

  2. No, that's exactly what they're doing. Read the article you posted.

The DSM revision does not mean that people who were diagnosed with Asperger's had nothing wrong with them, it means that their condition is high functioning autism and they don't need a separate name for it. The only difference between the two is that Asperger's does not result in verbal communication deficits.

People who are much more experienced and qualified than you actually opposed dropping the term "Asperger's" at all. It's a real condition, and it's unfortunate that so many internet trolls have diagnosed themselves as "aspies" as an excuse for their asocial douchebaggery. But those people are wildly misinterpreting what ASD actually is, and if you think the condition is illegitimate because of their "self-diagnoses" then you're as guilty of medical ignorance as they are.
