Yeah dude, I just bought it like a week ago. I have to say I've stayed away from the mlb 2k games and coming back to it im not that impressed... The pitching is crazy that parts mad fun and the announcing is good too but the hitting hasn't changed (aka I still suck at it), the fielding is mad glitchy, and the graphics suck man. That being said I still play it a lot cause it gets the 'feel' of baseball really well and its fun to play my team and make the trades I think we should have and drop people we needed to drop. I'm doing a franchise and my pitchers era's are all below 2 and some people are batting like .800 and others .000 lol M-E-T-S METS METS METS!!!
I find the hitting extremely easy to be honest. But yah I love pitching. Started a Franchise with the Cards and my first 6 batters are all .300 or higher i think and I purposely turned my batting sliders down and the AI's up. Also I turn the user pitching control way down because if you don't it becomes too easy and you will NEVER walk a batter even with a terrible pitcher. Jon Jay, Aaron Hill, Pujols, Colby Rasmus, Matt Holliday. I appreciate good graphics but like you said it has the baseball feel and thats all I care about.
As much as I love MLB video games I havent played one as good as triple play 2005. I'm still waiting for EA to get back into making MLB games. I believe they will be able to make one for 2013 if I read the contract terms correctly. The mini games were damned fun in MVP 2005 as well. I probably wasted 2 full weeks of my life in total playing the hitting mini game. So fun.
I like games that I can play online mostly. I don't like MLB games for online because there are people that go on and will never throw you a good pitch to hit. It's too hard to see the ball and work a walk if you ask me. Another thing is I find the games take too long to complete. That's the reasons I gave up on MLB games. MLB 2k games aren't too well made anyway.
Well i mean if you plan on playing a baseball game and complain its too long then baseball probably isnt the sport or game for you. And about never getting a pitch to hit. You have to understand what pitches do and how they work. If someone throws a breaking ball down low you probably shouldnt swing at it. Most batters only get 1 or 2 pitches to hit against a good pitcher and they have to pick those out out of all the pitches. I mean if you don't like it it's all you some people don't like certain games but I think your complaining about stuff that should be happening.
I watch all 162-games of baseball and I'm quite aware of how long the games take. I'm just not willing to play one game on a video game for that long and then repeatedly play it over and over. I wasn't complaining, I was just stating how I feel about baseball games. 1 or 2 pitches to hit against a good pitcher? I already said these players online will not even throw a strike. A breaking ball down low?? How can you tell it's a low breaking ball in the video game? That's what I'm talking about..it's about impossible to do.
Hitters with a good eye will tell you the area that the ball is coming and what kind of pitch it is. Fastball, Breaking ball, Change up. And if someone will not throw you a strike why not take the walk? I'm sure eventually they're gonna get tired of giving up runs without you swinging and he'll burn one down the middle. When the pitch is right over the plate it will even tell you (with a decent hitter) that it is by highlighting the strike zone with a blue outline and saying "fastball".
