Hello everyone, first grow coming up here in beginning-mid May and I have a pretty damn important question imo. I'm a little confused as to the exact amounts of bone meal and blood meal I should put into my mix. 6 plants, each in holes about 2' deep and 2.5' wide What I have: 7.8 cu ft of Bm1 (75-85% sphagnum peat moss, 25-15% perlite and vermiculite) 4 cu ft of Compost + Cow manure 5 lbs of Bone Meal 3.5 lbs of Blood meal Pelletized Lime (planning on switching out for pulverized) ANY help is appreciated, thanks!
Per cubic foot: Blood meal-1/2 cup Bone meal-1 cup Kelp meal- 1/2 cup (heavy) If you don't have any, get some. It's pretty much a 'must have' Lime- 1 cup The pelletized is fine, it is pulverized lime formed into pellets with a quick dissolving binder that dissolves with the first watering. Put a little in a glass and add some water, you'll see for yourself. There are many more amendments and things that can be added or substituted, but what you have right now (adding the kelp), will do for a good basic organic mix. Save the grocery list of other things that are sure to be tossed at you for the next batch of mix. You're GTG as is. Get the kelp meal though. Kelp4Less is good, online or Ebay. If you're lucky, you can find it local. Should be no more than $3/lb or less. Wet
Ah, great! Thanks alot. I'll have to get Espoma Kelp meal though since that shit is ALL over the place here, but it should do. Atleast i'm on the right track, much appreciated for the exact measurements!
Espoma is good stuff. I use several of their products. Their Greensand works quite well with the kelp meal, but that can wait till your next batch. Wet
