just saw this on yahoo. i guess both are expected to stop selling new cars in the u.s. in 2014.

  2. Yahoo is garbage is research.
Mitsubishi has promised probably 10 times within the past years, most recently 2 months ago, that they will not leave the US market. However, Suzuki, is leaving. I can't find anything solid that says Volvo is leaving, either.

  3. according to a financial journal (i can't remember which), u.s. market makes up less than .5% of volvo's sales.

and mitsubishi i've heard similar stories.

i thought suzuki announced that in 2012? haven't they been out for a bit?

i mean, i don't really care either way. suzukis, volvos, and mitsubishis have one thing in common: they won't ever be found in my driveway.

  4. Volvo is still around? I haven't seen one from the past 10 years in the States in a veeeeery long time. I only see late 80s and 90s.

well, to be honest, i worded the thread title to get views.

but i don't see how they can stay for much longer, they just don't have the numbers.

and i'm pretty sure support wouldn't be pulled out, just new car sales.

    yes they are.

  6. weird, i see newer volvos around here quite commonly

  7. mitsu's been hurting for a long time, i feel like they ve been leaving the US DOM market for the past 5-ish years. Volvo, according to yahoo, is only .3% of the market. If this is true then it s really believable but i feel like the US is such a valuable car market that they would stay, especially since (i think) they re owned by ford. Where i live there are a lot of volvos though, my aunt(850t) and mom(940T) had one, my step moms got one(s40 2.5). Its a decent car but i wish it was the 2.5T, whats weird about it is that its faster than my tdi but it does not feel that way at all over like 45. It just really lacks the TQ, you step on the gas and it kinda dogs it in the low rpm range. Its real noticable on the highway.
