Missouri HB 1670 pro/con thoughts?

Discussion in 'Medical Cannabis: Treatments & Patient Experiences' started by cball, Jan 29, 2010.

  1. Any opinions on HB1670? I think it is a bit strict but it's all we got to run with for now.

Any people in Missouri with some thoughts on this?

  2. I am not sure where you get the impression that the bill is strict. From what I have read, the bill seems pretty reasonable.

  3. yeah it seems pretty reasonable to me. hope it goes into affect soon

  4. I read through HB266 (last bill that died) and it provided for a bit more on grows...but I'll take what we can get at this point.:smoke:

  5. i just wanna be able to smoke in peace. not that i cant do it already. but it would be cool sitting on my couch smoking my bongs knowing that im actually allowed to lol

I have a better solution. How about WE THE PEOPLE of this nation, which is supposed to have a government run for the people and by the people, stand up and demand freedom! Fuck the DEA. The declaration of independence says that the people of America have the RESPONSIBILITY to overthrow any tyrannical form of government.

We're told that we live in a free society yet we can't cultivate a natural plant that has countless uses that could help not only the people, but the economy if it was legal... THAT IS TYRANNY. Not to mention the fact that it was made illegal through a totally illegitimate and criminal process. DON'T BE SLAVES and don't settle for anything less than freedom!

  7. god i wish it was that simple. im down to overthrow the government but im pretty sure that if anyone actually tried they'd "disappear"

  8. IT IS that simple, and I believe that's what it will eventually come down to because the criminal government we have now will NEVER allow us to be free. I think millions of people are eventually gonna wake up and all march on the capital and DEMAND freedom. Once the masses are awake, the government will be overthrown and we will be free!

  9. we can only hope. if that day ever comes ill be there with a blunt in hand

  10. The only downside I can see, is that the bill won't go to vote until November of 2011.

  11. I have been talking with Sensible Missouri and this is a blog I have up that explains HB 1670.....
The citizens of Missouri (and any other state that introduces similar legislation) must stand up and contact their state representatives and senators. Currently the bill must be sent to committee by Speaker Richards. Call him at 573-751-2173 and urge him to send the bill to committee before the state session ends in May. The real uphill battle comes from the Missouri Senate. If no companion bill to HB1670 is introduced in the Senate, the bill would die. So please call your state senators, the following link should take you to the roster:2010 Missouri Senate Member Roster

If the bill does not get passed than the possibility for medicinal marijuana would become an even bigger uphill battle. It could be placed on the ballot in 2011 and if this were to happen, medicinal marijuana would become part of the state constitution assuming that the voters approve of it. However, while this process has it's benefits the cost of printing up the petitions that would have to be signed, just to place marijuana on the ballot is in the hundred thousands. It is a very costly procedure.

There are many that will preach about the benefits of marijuana but will they also do the necessary legwork to make it reality? It is time for the citizens of this state to make their voices heard! Contact the house, contact the Senate, take part of one of the few freedoms that the government still allows us to have: our VOICES!
