missed my fucking practice this morning...

  1. i woke up at 8:20am feeling great then it sank in.. i missed my 6am football practice. my fuckin alarm on my phone simply did not go off

i hurriedly went to talk to my position coach and he said i wouldnt be playing this saturday  it really hurts blades, ive been working so hard for this chance but i cant seem to catch a break.

i feel like he might change his mind due to the circumstances of the game but hes the kind of person who sticks to his word. reason i say it might change cuz the team we are playing is a triple option team, meaning they will be running the fuck out of the ball. so you gotta get fresh legs in the game, plus i had a awesome practice yesterday so he knows what i can do.

when he told me that i was devastated, i almost cried when i left his office. i came back mid season from mcl tear, worked my way onto specials, made plays on that and did well at safety this past game. so this game this saturday was my shot to prove myself for next year.

but damn, technology has failed once again. if u guys could send some good vibes my way thatd be great.

i had to vent to yall. thanks

  2. Dang, I'm sorry dude. My best advice is to show your dedication to your team regardless if he lets you play or not. Show up and support your team mates anyway. Coach might like the initiative/dedication.

  3. Fuck cellphone alarms. They've made me practically late for work like 5 times already. For example, I will tell it to wake me up at 5 30am so that I can be ready for work at 7. That FUCKING alarm won't go off, and next thing you know, I've woken up at 6 45 scrambling out the door with no shower or breakfast feeling like a mess.

So I feel your pain OP, not as severe... But I know what you mean aha. You can't do anything about it now though. So just tough it out, hope for the best. If he changes his mind, good for you. If not, then just work extra hard next time to prove to him that a setback like that won't stop you from making it to the top. If anything, he will realize that and there might be more rewards at the end of the tunnel

  4. Put light timers on the lights next to your bed, that's what I use as a backup for my alarms.

  5. what level do you play at?

  6. My advice is to stop playing a game that can negatively affect the rest of your life. Anything to be cool in high school, I guess.

  9. i was gonna call this guy out on being underage, but hes playing on saturday. means hes in college.

  10. ? We played on the occasional saturday in highschool...

OP, just have a short memory. Put it behind you and get prepared for the game, and when you get the chance to show your stuff make it happen.

  11. that's why you gotta have a alarm clock right by the bed and use it. Phones i could never trust, though if i had important shit i'd always have 2 alarms at least set lmao

  12. You just gotta suck it up and wake up early enough next time, man.

Coach, teacher, employer, doesn't matter, they're all going to expect you to be where you need to be at a certain time, and there's going to be consequences if you can't do that.

Try a new alarm clock. Or maybe a whole system of different alarm clocks. Whatever works for you. :p

  13. I set 2 alarms 5 minutes apart and make sure my phones on ring when I go to bed

  14. I have this habit of turning my alarm off while I'm still asleep and never even waking up to realize that my alarm went off, so I tend to set a lot of alarms.

I'll set one like an hour before I want to get up, and then I'll set one like 20 minutes before I want to get up, and then I'll set one for the time I want to get up, and then I'll set one for 10 minutes after, just in case, and another one for 5 minutes after that, just in case.

That's the only way I can manage to get up on time.

  15. I also turn it off without waking up so I set my phone out of reach

  16. My highschool had Saturday games.....

  17. cool bro mine didnt. thanks for the condescending ...

  18. man I've missed so much shit because my alarm on my cell phone didn't go off, or I had it set to vibrate or some other bullshit. I finally sacked up and bought an alarm clock, damn good investment.

  19. yeah im in college. i hope my coach will change his mind or maybe circumstances will allow me to play
