Hi all I was wondering if you could use mirrors as the reflective lighting in grow boxxes? Aha my brain works in funny ways I guess aha Peace out My best ideas are created in the presence of weed ðŸ
Glass mirrors would be terrible because even the clearest of glass will filter a lot of light. Reflected light will have gone through the glass twice. They are also expensive, heavy, fragile and dangerous if broken. White plastic sheeting, white paint, mylar, and even aluminium foil are much more suitable
It has always been my understanding that mirrors cause 'hot spots' because they don't diffuse the light as it's reflected. That's according to Ed and the guys at High Times.
Mirrors actually absorb as much light as they reflect. Best option are flat white paint, mylar, or white poly.
Best option is a bank of lights for roof, walls and floor. No hot spots, reflections or shade....dont forget to turn the ac to ARCTIC...job done.
