miracle grow question???

  1. i just planted my last autoflower seed and i used miracle grow regular soil it says it feed plants for 6 months im worried about nute burn this baby is only going to be alive for 2 months

    the mix is 0.21- 0.07- 0.14

should i transplant into MG organic ???? THATS ALL I HAVE

  2. imo, organic soil would be preferable, yes. :)

  3. You should be ok, that's a pretty low mix.

  4. anybody else???

  5. From what I have seen with miracle grow is you will have fungus gnats to worry about, but if it's your only choice neem oil and go organic if possible

  6. i mean what do you want to hear?

MG's a horrible soil, even the organic version... if it really is all you can get, then try it out and be prepared to combat the pH, bug, and nute burn problems...

i'd suggest getting better soil, but yano, to each his own...

  7. yeah, screw the Miracle Grow Organic Choice shit. I mean, i've got plenty of other issues damaging my plant right now, but I'm certain there are better options out there than MG. I've had the fungus gnats already, and it's just not a quality soil. Definitely look into the organic growing threads and get some ideas for mixing your own soil.

  8. for soil, i use...

    30% promix bx
    20% earthworth castings
    25% perlite
    25% vermiculate
1TBSP per gallon mexican bat guano
Dolomite Lime as needed to 6.5

check link in my sig for nute schedule...

truthfully i have grown in miracle grow time release for my first grow and it worked fine . all i haad to do was ph my water n thats it. yes fungs knts were present but you can ge rid of them i bet with a spray that i can get a link for . but if you want to keep it simple and very basic i recomend mg . if you want to get into a little more complicated style of growing for whatever reason by all means use coco fiber/ perlite 50/50 mix. this is a better way to grow than soil but you also have to fertilize and monitor more but is less prone to bugs . this is my experiance and opinion. coco is a way to get the best of both worlds.

  10. Plants CAN grow sucessfully in mg soil but using it is just pointless when you can get a bag of soil 10x better for like 5 bucks.

My first attempt at growing was ruined because of the slow release nutes and the drainage of the soil. The nutes in the soil can easily fuck up a seedling, they dont need nutes at all. And the drainage will cause root rot, thats how my first seedling died. The next day i went to home depot and picked up a 5 dollar huge bag of scotts premium soil mix and my seedlings grew 2 inches in 1 and a half days.

  11. jungle worked for me as well.

  12. I just went through 4 lg. bags of MG and I now have fucking gnats everywhere. Coincidence, or......?

  13. Scotts is Miracle Grow. MG is owned by Scotts. Its all the same. I've had good luck with MG, and Scotts. MG organic has poultry manure in it as its main nute source. Jorge Cervantes says that poultry manure is some of the best for growing herb. Who knows. I've moved on and now i use totally organic mix that i mix myself at the local garden shop. Read the ingredients, if it works make your own. Watch Jorge's DVD's there is one he mixes the perfect soil in a cement mixer, its great!

  14. I use miracle grow potting soil on all mine. Works great.
