Ohio company wants to help pot growers : News : ToledoontheMove.com Scotts Chief Executive Jim Hagedorn must realize that pot isn't just grown, it's ingested. I feel like all of this is going downhill..
Although I don't care for Miracle-Grow products, I see this as a big positive! This is a major company saying they want a cut of the cannabis market. That it is OK to grow pot and a LOT of people are doing it! This is "respectability"! Many other smaller (and better) companies will see this as a "green light" to develop more cannabis related products! And pot growers should send MG their opinions on formulations- if MG is going to do this, we owe it to the future pot-growing noobs to help MG to do it RIGHT! So I really welcome this development- even if it is MG doing it! I just wonder which big corporation is next to jump on the cannabis "bandwagon"? Granny
Okay wether or not big buisness taps into the marijuana market, at the end of the day who's going to stop you from putting your own seeds in the ground? In my opinion, in the future I see big pharma competing with mom and pop buisnesses over the cannabis market. Big pharma will try to say their product is grown under government standards and small buisnesses will say their product is grown organically and cheaper. Or if you're smart you can just grow your own.
Honestly, most people seriously growing don't need a one size fits all blend. My friend makes unique supplements for each of his plants because they respond in different ways. For amateurs, around my leven, this is a godsend. Also, the fact that such a large company is willing to recognize cannabis as a market is a critical domino. Soon enough, more stuff will tip over.
It's all one giant sting operation, now everyone who buys Miracle-Gro will be followed by the police and arrested as soon as they have the slightest semblance of an excuse to do so. Just get a new entertainment center and your power bill has gone up? You're fucked. Enjoy hiking in the woods often? You're fucked. I'm joking of course, this is an interesting development, once the commercial sector starts endorsing (and seeing profit from) the cannabis culture, more politicians will get on board, as soon as their bribes come in that is.
This has some potential thats for sure. If they are the first big business to endorse Cannabis, all it takes is their competition to see the profit, and bam, there will be lobbyists that the politicians will listen to (they'll have money), and we may be set on the right track. Then if its legalized, grow your own, and no (frivolous) worries about your weed ending up like the tobacco in cigarettes. I believe this is definitely a step in the right direction.
Or maybe not? They're a fertilizer company. He's targeting the cannabis nutrient market, not growing cannabis himself.
They don't want to breed weed, they want to make weed oriented nutrients. There are already plenty of companies who do this, so they definitely aren't ahead of the times or anything.
You'll probably need a license to buy it....and when you do local government will trace the purchases on your Credit Card right to your door. You'll have to be more stealth then ever
if pot ever becomes legal the most effective way to profit will be by the selling of seeds, hydroponic cabinets and other growing products. Half the reason tobacco and alcohol companies don't want it legalised is because when they get the licences etc to mass produce marijuana most people will just decide to grow their own.
