Minimizing Fallage When Rolling Joints

Discussion in 'Apprentice Marijuana Consumption' started by Shankmasterflex, Jan 28, 2010.

  1. First, off, not to brag but I roll extremely nice joints. I rolled cigarettes all summer for a bunch of my smoker friends (not me) so I definitely have the rolling down.

Problem is, when I came back to rolling weed, i found that I always let alot of the weed fall/spill out of either end while in the process of rolling it up.
I roll cones, so luckily it's not a problem, i just throw the stuff that falls out back in the top and pack it.
My question is, how can I minimize letting weed fall out of either end of the paper while rolling? I can't seem to figure out a good way.

Just as a side note, it's not alot of weed by any means. Just enough so that its kind of annoying to always have to pick it up. It's also kind of annoying that I have to roll over a table or something flat to catch anything that falls out.

Any and all tips are appreciated.
    Thanks blades.

  2. i usually tilt the paper when im rolling cones so the mouthpiece stops the weed from falling out

  3. Well my advice is this:
    DONT ROLL CONEs

Not to offend you or anything, like i personally enjoy cones, but when i just started off, i was rolling cones too, and i was spilling LOADS, but now i roll as little as possible. Try to make your joints as straight as possible, and rather than rolling jentley be a bit more agressive and form the mix into a perfect cylinder. Leave some space between the end of the rolling paper and the end of the mix, so if it flattens out it doesn't fall. I understand you completely since i used to have the same problem. Make your joints a bit thinner than standard cigs and if you see that shit starts falling out, just push it a bit in. Hold the joint by the mouthpiece (i am european and lived there for a long time). You also mentioned that you use just enough weed. If you roll cones, then it means you use like an entire cig in your joints, so the best thing would be to use only like half a cig or a third like i do. This makes your joints smooth and is just enough for it to burn evenly. This also allows for a much straight and even rolling. So yeah, this is my advice. Anyways, i hope you have an awesome day, get more high and my enjoy

  4. Some people seem to just be able to...

I know people who roll literally to within a millimetre of the end in a perfect cone.. its pretty impressive.

Just be aware of the end at all times, and dont move it in a way its going to spill.

  5. 1. When you tuck an end hold that end towards the ground so the weed has less of a chance of falling out because of the cone shape.
    2. Push the weed down to pack it before you even roll using your fingers.
    3. Worst comes to worst, pick it up and put it back in.

Kind of hard to explain this so high but hopefully you get the general idea.

  6. Make 2 seperate piles of weed on the joint. One on each end, leaving a space in the middle. Not too close to the edges either is a good trick. Then just start rolling and the weed will spread out nicely into the middle and throught the whole j. And if you do it right, nothing will fall out.

  7. either roll it up tight so its formed and doesnt spill or start rolling at one end and end at the other. a lot of people choose to roll a j starting by the middle but i prefer to roll it like a blunt (end to end) because it always come out like a cigarette that way for me. when people start rolling from the middle they tend to push out the weed causing it to spill

  8. I can manage to have none fall out if I roll real tight, but then the joint is too tight in my opinion. The drag is way to large.

I've tried the two piles and it just feels too awkward for me, especially if I roll a cone.

I know rolling a straight cigarette shaped joint would make it easier, but I'm asking specifically for cones. Not cause I'm stubborn, but because if I roll straight the problem tends to go away.
