SOOOOO i was looking around lowes today and saw some 70w 65w etc... MH and HPS outdoor lights. i am seriously considering picking one of these up for a grow? what do yall think? i was going to ask before i did it because i am still concerned as to whether its going to work or not? EDIT: the reason i am asking is right now i have 2 100w CFLs making 7000 lumans each. and it seems like 70w HPS bulbs make about 3000 lumans with that in mind would i be downsizing?
actually from what ive seen and what my 70w puts out its about 6800 initial and 6400 mean lumens, enough for a decent micro grow in my oppinion, keepone cfl and one hps, good even spectrum. the cfl have better spectrum even at 2700k
I have had success with 3 milk gallon jugs under a 12x12 hps light. Plants in a corner of the room, draped with poly-which in turn was draped in a vinyl shower curtain. I had three nice females.
