Ok so i was thinkn of starting my own micro grow....i already have the mini fridge and know alittle about growing... the reason for this thread is cause i wanna know exactly what type of light system would work good and still sorta cheap plus i wanna know how to rig the entire thing without spending too much on it oh and im planning on using soil so no hydro.....yet Mini fridge specs 4ft tall 2ft wide 2ft long Veryy stoned right now and sorry if it doesnt make sense lol Any help would be very appreciated thanks
i love the idea. i would prolly go cfl if you want to save money, how many plants are you going to grow? what type of soil you want to use? do you have any nutes? and you will need a ph meter just to start

I've seen a lot of grow fridges that do very well, CFL is the way to go just because of how much space your dealing with, do some more research on the forums theirs plenty of info on it.
no prob bud. and i would go with fox farm ocean forrest soil or FFOF as many refer to it as. and go all out with the nutes fox farm grow big for veg and fox farm big bloom for flower.
sounds like a cool idea. do you want to keep the fridge in tact and still use the cooling function or just use the outside as a stealth box? I think stealth would be simpler, but a working cooled grow box sounds sweet. I think it just depends on how much effort you want to put into this project.
maybe dont use the cooling system till harvest and make the buds dense or something.. haha i dont know you should research it, myabe the co2 will help. im really high sorry...
Well the fridge is gutted out which will just work as a stealth box but would of been a good idea if the cooling worked...also ima try and drill some holes for the light fixture this weekend and hopefully drill the holes for the fans which will come in handy later in the process...oh and i was wondering what type of reflective linning should i use and if i should pre drill holes for the charcoal filter aswell any advice will be appreciated thanks.
Well, you may not need any lining if you didn't want to. White is the most reflective color so if your fridge is white on the inside you should be good. your box is big enough to probably need more than a pc fan for intake and one for out maybe use a desk fan as well to help circulation. search for the fish tank carbon filter diy on here.
if your fridge came with glass shelves that went all the way across, you could use that as a heat shield for using HID lights to really help keep temps down, making HIDs a very reasonable possability, if in your budget. too bad about not being able to keep the fridge operational. ive been thinking of getting a full size fridge for a grow. helpful advice for any wanting to do this: mix cornstarch and rubbing alcohol into a thick soup and paint it on the fridge walls with it running. you will quickly be able to see where it dries and that is where the freon lines are. you would be able to use a hole saw to drill between them. the only problem with this is, you may end up having to run several 3" fans instead of a couple 6". agree about the lining of the fridge as a reflective material if its their. otherwise, mylar lining is pretty relatively available at hardware stores pretty cheap. you wont need a whole lot. if you cant find any, try to use those really shiney winshield reflectors. only use a mylar emergency blanket if you have to. you are going to want an intake fan, this is no big deal, just run a pc fan off as little as 5 volts and youre good (just be sure to light proof it). for exhaust you'll want a decent fan especially if its pushing through a scrubber.
Ok so its 1 oh 3 in the morning i started the germination process for the seed which finger crossed will root for me and im sorry if this isnt the correct place for this posting just wanted to let you all know since after all you guys motivated me alot more to continue with this grow ill have a pic probally for you all by the end of this weekend So stoked !!!
