sup dopehead! long time no speak srry bout ur plants man WTF!!! anyways man, just wanted to stop by and show some of the GC brotherly love, be well homey!!! Bp
BP I kno, I saw you finished your grow, that girl looked sexy b.t.dubs! Yeah, the plant silliness is exactly that, a whole bunch of silliness. Got bugs in one room nute issues in the other, the bugs are all but gone now, fortunetly, 3 applications of that organic pesticide stuff, gonna whip up some more and do another spraying. the nute issue seems to be solved, I backed it up from 3tsp(1tbs) to 2 tsp growbig once a week, they all got hair cuts and new growth is already popping out of nodes you got anything brewing? looks like Lemon Skunk, Himalaya gold, Big Bang, Thai Super Skunk, Hawaiian Snow, are gonna be just vegative house plants for a bit, I actually have a friend who is moving into his own pad, might give him those plants. that leaves White Widow, The Church, El Nino, Great White Shark , Gigabud, and well im on the fence about cheese, she likes to get a little larger then I want to work with. These are my final choices after reviewing growth rates in my set up along with clone success rate given my methods to growing. Pics will be up tonight to anyone interested -pc
well thats good that you got the bug problem under control before it ruined your crop, but do you know whether or not your pesticide is gonna leave any taste or residue to your buds? and i cant wait to see some bud porn.
Genocide: Yeah dude, I spray down the plants till they are drenched. within like 5-10 minutes it is completely evaporated off. Smelt them last night and well, they all smell very different from each other but they def. don't smell like soap, pepper, or garlic. I can't wait until I have bud porn, but last night I stripped down the fridge for it's monthly cleaning, I actually lined the inside with a few pieces or Mylar, perhaps that will increase the penetration of the light? Secondly I made it possible to fit another string of 4 clones possibly,... 20 plants at a time is my new max. However, I don't foresee that becoming a norm, I think I'll leave the extra space around the plants. Lastly, I couldn't get on last night however, here are all the pics I took I re-sized them to the smallest size my image server allows I hope it worked right. I guess we'll start with the closest thing to bud porn I got, flowering clones I found this little guy in my veg room, there was another in the box but he flew off, wasn't as orange as this one tho Harmless Crane fly? or something I should worry about Can't figure out how you get them to be click-able, you know get to open up in a separate window, sorry about that any one know how?
i dont have personal experience with crane flies, but ive heard they arent all that harmless. they feed on roots when they are young and when they become adults their only goal is to mate so they can become quite a problem. also, they love moist, humid areas. so what's you're RH like in there? finally, you'll probably be better off leaving that extra space between your plants so that you have no problems with mold, etc.
LMFAO Gen. Nah just been waiting for a time more appropriate for show and tell. all my veg plants have recovered from the burns made earlier last month. my Thai super skunk plants are getting damn near knee high, gonna have to do something, maybe revert them or abandonment. Trying to make some improvements on my box as many leaks have formed over the past year or so what hold mylar to plastic with decent heat tolerance. Duct and gorilla tape both fall off after about a month, electrical tape after a few hours, staples will not go through at this point i am thinking liquid adhesives but IDK what any suggestions? I'll get some show and tell rolling soon tho, stay tuned
foil tape is great when it comes to heat resistance,... i remember on my first grow long ago, i actually used foil tape as mylar basically, and it never once started to fall down, (it was actually a little tough taking that stuff down)... so see if that works for you. did you get those crane flies dealt with, if not whats your RH like?
sup dopehead, how them buds treating ya! im in need of your expertise bro, im gearing up for my next grow in october which will inlcude a 6ft tall grow box and 5 gal bubble buckets a la rumpleforeskin style, in the meantime though i got so anxious to grow i threw some g13 power skunk seeds in some small soil pots and have them under a 125 watt daylight bulb now in the fridge, i dont know how to feed em nutes, check for ph or know how large they would get in the pots that they are in, any help from you would be most greatly appreciated thanks bro Bp
Genocide: f'real bro offed its head. All of my bonsai's have dropped the bottom and started yellowing with Defficency so its time to work them back into a solid nute cycle. pic within the next week or two. Bori: I used Fox Farm I used to use 1tbs Grow Big, to 1.5 tsp Thrive alive for veg once a week with water inbetween flowering was 2 tsp Tiger bloom with 1.5 tsp thrive alive and 2 tsp biobloom the veg mix burned my babies but they were mad young when I started feeding them so i think the mix was ok, just too much too soon. as far as pH the way I do it is not the most accurate but it's what I can afford. wait for soil to dry out, start to water until it drips, collect run off and use aquarium test liquid. It gives me a good ballpark. All my water is pre treated and buffered to 6.8 before adding ferts and U typically end up with a pH of 6.5 in the end hitting the soil. I'm saving for a pH meter, I would too if I were you. With regards to hieght theat baby is gonna get kinda large people will tell you to repot but ignore them repotting will let it grow bigger keeping it in a small pot will stress it but thats thats the thrive alive is for. You should be able to grow it out start to finish in less then a 6" pot (less then one liter of soil) if need be. GL with that tho. Anyone who cares: Big revamping comming. got about 6 weeks left on the plants in there. and after that death to the mini fridge, again, so i can resurect it with an improved lighting system, scrubber/ventilation. Veg room is getting split and a worm bin is being built in the utility area under the shelf. R.I.P. to my year old bonsai mother and a Thai Super Skunk male I'll snap pics before official burrials. that'll leave me with 10 bonsai and 20 some odd clones.
Nah there are a bunch, its like a constant issue. Actually was a nosey neighbor and came to the conclusion the large outdoor pond at the house behind me, mixed with the pythetic (dying) looking garden at my neighbors house, and the other neighbor being a garage with lots of extra tires and abandoned cars, all correlate to lots of bugs so I must be vigilant if I expect to keep bugs at bay. in any regard, the crane flies come and go, never spending too long in the veg room befor they are captured and released outside. and whatever was eating my plants is gone,...i think,...two weeks of pepper spray and things seems to have stopped dissapearing. I'll be grabbing pictures monday so until then pc
would you mind telling us all what your pepper mixture is? ive been having some problems with gnats. i know they arent serious but its annoying. oh yeah and i thought of something you could use to keep the bugs out of your box. go to wal-mart or whatever and in the camping section look for these little battery powered, green boxes that emit a high-pitched frequency. i use them to keep the bugs out of my house when i have the front door standing open, and they work great. if they dont work for you then you can take always just take them back. Keep Smokin
no prob gen. its a tsp of pepper into about a liter of H2O. Gnats do get pretty annoying, try to keep the soil as clean as possible and make sure you don't water too much. if things get too bad tho you can always go soiless.
i keep it pretty clean, theres only like 2 or 3. i would go soiless but i can never find my good ol' jiffy and perlite anymore at my local stores. thanks for the recipe, but what exactly do you mean by pepper(sorry im stoned)?
Gen,.. no prob bro, I am never on this site not stoned By pepper I mean Red Pepper Powder, however, I used Cayan(sp?)pepper last week when i can our of red pepper powder, seemed to be interchangeable Anywho,... regardless of the availability of jiffy/perlite, u wouldn't realyl need either for this; Super Simple Sbb and Flow hydroponic setup- DIY tutorial *lots o pics* - International Cannagraphic Magazine Forums This set up looks mad simple, I've seen a few threads about making them, all lead me to the same conclusion, cheaper, easier, just as efficient. Made a 2 site version of the same thing once, however I could not work out an appropriate hieght. The height issue was only cause i grow in fridge tho, most cabs with 3-4" of height will be able to do this no problem, but I have 26 actual inches in height to work with, between bin and bottles thats most of my hieght, no room for buddage. Pictures will be posted tonight around 10 p.m. PST see ya around.
oh, i see what you meant by pepper now. oh and there's a difference between soiless and hydroponic as far as i understand. and ive always been a soil guy. tried hydro once or twice, cant do it. that and there's just too many chemicals. i like to keep it simple. K.I.S.S.
KISS is a good idea, less is typically more, it was just a suggestion. I know what you mean, soiless could be split up, but I consider aeroponics, hydro, pearlite, ect. as soiless, because all are soiless LOL . As promised, Visual Aids R.I.P. "T-51B" after a year of faithful service her time had come. And the Thai Super skunk male I didn't want, stood about knee high Hawaiian Snow,... IT LIVES AGAIN!!! Now with no further interruptions, my bonsai followed by all flowering clones. The last two are Lemon Skunk and Thai Super Skunk, these will be the only time TSS runs flower, and Lemon Skunks bonsai will be thrown in a few weeks harvested and disposed of. Looks like I'll be growing the three whites(white widow, el nino, great white shark) predominatly, though very similar they all have slight twists that make them unique. Did some more reasearch and according to Arjan, most of these bad larries do better at like 5.5. with an EC of like 1.6 and nutrient whores. So I am upping the regiment as they are all very deffecient right now. Opinions? comments? questions? ~dopehead
So,... found a little morsel of goodness to share Went looking for a flange to hook my scrubber up to as gorilla tape was finally failing. Plastic dry exhaust are two pieces, a flange unit And one of those light damper units, 3 dollars bought both a louve(whatever that word is that mean blocks light at an intake) and the basis of a new scrubber. starting with molasses soon, it's perfectly OK to use with my other nutrient right? Tiger Bloom and BioBloom with Thrivealive? Opinions?
