I'm just curious as to how many of you are Veterans of military service. What country? What branch? When? I served in the US Army from 1977 to 1988.
i have had family members in every war since WW1 except for afghanistan, and a family member in every branch. ill be enlisting in the army soon as well so hopefully ill keep that going and get stationed in afghanistan. and thanks for your service man. also be prepared to get flamed. lots of soldier hate on these boards.
Thanks, man. I know, another thread prompted me to start this one. Thanks to you and your family's service to our country. Keep your head down. What wil be your MOS? Oh, and thanks for the warning about the haters here. I've had worse shit launched my way than what these pussies can come up with.
not for me. My whole family (males) served in the soviet military back in the day. My great grand father was mia during ww2 when my great grandmother was pregnant with my grandmother. My grandmother's stepfather served and fought in ww2, even escaped from the nazis. My grandfather served in the soviet navy as did my father. My uncle served in the army. You didn't have a choice but to serve, unless you got into a 4 year school right after high school. They also wouldn't send you into war if you were an only child and only had one parent. So if it was just you and your mother, your mother wouldn't have to deal with burying you and giving you a open casket funeral. Thankfully i left ukraine when i was 14 and i didnt' have to serve. From all the horror stories i have heard about our military since the collapse of the soviet union, i'm happy i missed that. It's more like a workers camp/boot camp. With sever beatings and hazing and other shit. Not quite "military" if you ask me.
USMC poolee, scheduled to leave for PI 21 March. Thanks for your service blades, hoping I can return the favor someday.
I served in the US Marine Corps from 2005-2009. MOS was 0311. To all the other vets here, thanks for your service!
Anyone that hates on those of you who put your lives on the line for my freedom should be shot straight up.
