Hey Guys, this is my first grow. I have a real makeshift setup for the moment. I'm using a cabinet on an old dresser that is about 2 ft. x 2 ft. x 3 ft. For lights I have a 13 watt CFL in a desk lamp. It was a kinda of rushed setup that I plan on improving soon. I sprouted four bagseeds of some decent merch I came across using the old wet paper towel method and within a few days I had taproots. I planted them in tupperware containers for now and used MG potting mix with time release nutrients. The seeds popped off on 01/17 so I'm going to count that as day one. Today is day eight and I'm kinda worried they stretched to much. the stems are all about 4 in. long and the second set of true leaves are just poking out. I think it is because of the low light level. I plan on buying 4 more 26 watt CFL's this week and using those with the two 13 watt's I already have, also I am going to transplant into bigger pot's and bury the stem almost to the leaves. Tell me what you guys think of this plan. The plants themselves look healthy, they're dark green in color and growing at a steady rate, just really lengthy you know? Here's some pic's, the first one is Day 3, the rest are from this morning.
They are definitely stretched. The rule of thumb that I have come across is 50-100 actual watts per plant. Im on my first grow and Ive got 130 actual watts per plant and they are growing insanely fast. Get more lighting and keep them close if you are using cfls. Looks about the same as mine till I got more lighting. You are on the right track for sure.
