Might possibly have a hermaphrodite on my hands

  1. I'm about 40 days into flowering, and I have no clue how I didn't notice this before. One of feminized Jacky White's colas exhibited what I think is a ball-sack. Strange thing is, the other stalks on the same plant don't have any of this, at least none that I could find. So check these pictures out and confirm my worst suspicions. :(

  2. I don't see any ball-sacks there. Those are all flowers, and nice looking ones at that!

  3. Whenever I'm browsing through the "New Posts" search on the forums... Thread titles like these always make me do a double take. And then I realize they're in the growing section, and I chuckle to myself.

Just had to point that out.

  4. Looks fine. I see possible seed pods or maybe false seed pods but, no balls.

  5. I'll take your words for it. :smoke:

I kinda freaked out 'cos I saw some ball-esque seed pods, but thank you for putting my fears to rest.

  6. I'm sorry to continue this, but I looked again and I swear to god I think these are seed pods on one of my females (meaning there's a hermi who knocked up my girl ). I took some better pictures to illustrate what I'm talking about. I broke open a single one and could've sworn I saw an undeveloped seed (but it was so tiny it could've been a speck of something else).

I don't know what I'm talking about. I'm wrong in all this, right?

Edit: In advance, let me apologize for being a nub.

  7. Isn't the pod still there even if there is no seed in it?

I don't know, that's kinda hitting the edge of my knowledge. I do know I wouldn't go ripping up good buds looking for seeds that may not be there.

  8. Maybe if you circled the picture in paint with a noticable color, and reposted them, we would be able to determine if THAT particular area has nuts.

  9. You didn't say how old the plants were, but they look very late into flowering. With some strains the buds will swell up in the last couple of weeks, giving the appearance that they've been pollenated, when in fact they're just very ripe. I don't see anything in either set of pictures that looks like a male flower. Yes, a couple of those "pods" look pretty swollen, but that doesn't necessarily mean you've got seeds.

One other thing, it looks like all of your hairs have changed color. You should be very close to harvest, if you're not there already. Take a good look at your trichs. If the plants are ready, then you won't need to worry about hermies :D.

  10. ^^^ What he said.

Here's how to tell when to harvest by examining the trichomes. Happy Harvesting.

  11. Yes and it is called a "false seed pod".

  12. I love you guys.

And yea, it's been 44 days since I switched to 12/12, and the two strains I'm growing go for 55-60 days. I'll probably be harvesting in a week or two.. right now I'm starting to flush the nutrients.

  13. Don't get too excited yet. Make sure there are no seeds in those pods.
