Ok, short story is - Planted seed, grew plant, she's maybe 3 feet tall. I live in Indiana so atm it's cold outside (Yes it's part of story). My In-laws came into town to see the wife and I. Had to put plant in attic where it got really cold, and she was healthy as hell when i checked on her yesterday. Now... she's wilted over, the leaves just straight down. I've watered her just in case, put her under my 400W HPS light @ 50% Dimm and put the light @ the top of my tent just in case she rises don't want her to burn. After about 4 hours or so, she hasn't regained her any life at all, in fact I think she has gotten worse. I was thinking of putting a heating pad under Pot to possibly heat the soil/roots back up. Other than that I've no idea. Any suggestions? Before you say "You're an idiot for putting her in the cold" - I tried putting her in our room, but she smelled like hell.
Bummer about that. It must have been really cold. I would wait a little longer before you pronounce her dead. They have a way of reviving from the dead. Next time, treat the in-laws to a hotel room.
anything above freezing the plant should survive for a while, if you put it out into <0C that was indeed a very stupid move. its possible that some parts of the plant are still alive. treat it nicely and dont overwater, cuz the reduced active leaf surface means reduced transpiration. do not try to compensate by overheating now, that will only make it worse.
Take all the living stuff off of it and try and get a clone going. They will grow rapidly after they root, because they are already at 'maturity' auxin-wise, and they might be your saving grace. I have set them on fire, soaked them in brine, peed on them because someone thought it was a good idea, baked them in the dessert sun and fried them in the cold, usually SOMETHING survives long enough to take a cutting or two. Good luck. Ignore the insults, it's all in good fun...honestly, next time she drops by, bag the fucker in plastic and duck tape, till you can't smell it, and put it in a closet! I tell people that we have a skunk in the neighborhood...
Ive never smelled a skunk... do they actually smell like weed? :O
They can smell quite similiar but it is easy to tell the difference if you have experienced both of them. As strong as a grow can smell, a skunk just has that little something extra. My neighbor has a skunk living under his front porch. Every few nights the little bastard sprays and the smell gets sucked in by our heat pump. Absolutely horrible.
Take a look at my "Perfect Odour Neutralizer" link found on my grow techniques link below. If you skip to the last page there's a mini version that could eliminate the Odour from one plant easily.
Shes sadly still getting worse . Thank you for the replies and suggestions. I'd love to clone her... yet the braches are literally wilted over. Appreciate everyone's reply . I THINK somehow root-rot might be the reason too, cause like I said before, she was perfect before she went up there. I forgot to add, I believe I watered her before she went up there - but I let it settle in the soil and put the light/fan on her hours before she went up in the attic. So the water might've frozen, not too sure - I'm trying everything I can to get her going again. Again, thanks for replies and suggestions. @skunk, I cannot believe I didn't think of a bag... WOW - I'm an idiot! ><
They do unless you've grown weed before. Then They just smell like ganja plants. But to people who don't grow they absolutely would think its a skunk
