Michigan MMJ Caregiver question

Discussion in 'Medical Marijuana Usage and Applications' started by chillsmoker, Feb 23, 2010.

  1. Hey GC,

So I finally got approved in Michigan,(app is over 15 days and no denial letter), however I had some questions about the patient caregiver option. As I am 18, I can be my own caregiver or have someone else be my caregiver, but I was wondering even though I am under 21 but still a patient, can I be other peoples caregivers? Or would I have to wait to be 21, The law isn't really clear on this topic and was hoping for some advice. Thanks all in advnace:wave:

  2. You aren't your own caregiver. You are a patient with no caregiver.

Yes. You have to be 21 in Michigan to be a caregiver.

  3. But as a patient I can still have my 12 plants, but can I be compensated for meds for a patient to patient transfer then since I can't be a patient caregiver? Say I only use 6 of my plants and 6 for a relative, and recieve compensation for the meds that the 6 plants provide if it is transferred to another registered legal patient?

  4. bump, need advice please

  5. Does anyone happen to have experience in this area that could help please?

  6. Really guys? This is depressiing lol. How is Michigan regarding patient to patient transfers? I know the law says that we are legal under prop 1 to transport marijuana, but some define that as from place a to b; while some interpret the law as transfer from person to person. Has there been a formal statement to LEO interpretation of the law and if they define P2P transfers illegal? Thanks for the help in advance

  7. The protection for transporting comes from this location in the law:

Note that "transfer" and "delivery" are protected actions in addition to transportation.

  8. I know its written in the law like that, but I have heard of some people having problems with p2p because cops interpret the "transferring" as its your marijuana taking it from point a to point b, instead of transferring ownership from other forums. So I was trying to get a better idea. MSP released something regarding their interpretation of the law saying that any sale to a qualifying patient was considered legal, but not all officers are following it. Have you heard anything about this? Any Michigan patients have a better understanding than I?

  9. So it's a good thing that is talks about "transport", "transfer" and "delivery."

That way they have to fail to understand the English language for all three words.
