Hey GC! I would post this in the general section, but I figured this is more of a gaming nuisance than a general problem. Today I joined the usual vent server with a few buddies, and got complaints that they couldn't hear me at all. Checked my mic volumes, they remained untouched from the previous day when everything worked like a charm. Checked on steam by doing the mic test, and found that there was a distracting static background noise, and that I could only hear myself when I practically yelled into the mic, yet it came out very very quiet. If it helps I'll put up screenshots. My current headset is a steelseries 7h usb headset. I doubt it has something to do with the actual mic on the headset though, it's fresh out of the box and has been in use only a few weeks. Any advice is appreciated. **Edit: included vent settings as they were when the mic worked
Wow such a quick reply I'll look over the link, but I think it's something more than that, since my steam also had a faulty mic reception.
dunno, deep throat your mic i guess. as for the quick reply.. just random that it caught my eye right when you posted
Well it seems like I'm a complete dumbass I forgot to switch the 'mic' option on the headphones. That's just fucking great
