ahh sucks man, those poor mexican citizens man, it terrible out there. They need to stop this shit, and we all know how we can put a massive dent in it.
People are really so blind to history it's ridiculous. During alcohol prohibition what happened? Criminal gangs grew in strength and there was ultimately complete contempt for the law. Normal law abiding citizens were caught in the cross fire. Thousands of lives were lost. During drug prohibition what happened? Criminal gangs grew in strength and there was ultimately complete contempt for the law. Normal law abiding citizens were caught in the cross fire. Thousands of lives were lost. It's ridiculous. Legalize already.
i hadnt thought about this but you're absolutely right. its the same game, a different drug and different players. + rep for truth
I agree with your statment, but the cartels arean't just pushing Marijuana. Even if marijuana was legalized and what not, the market would then be solely for cocaine, heroine, methamphetamine..and you can't tell me those drugs should be legal.
Ask Chrysler and General Motors what happens when you lose even 30% of your cash flow. The cartels will lose 70% or better of theirs, thus reducing their ability to out equip the federal forces and the corruption that protects them. The DEA analysts have already stated that the cartels cannot expand their "other drugs" market base enough to make up the difference.
^this. it would help the situation a ton and combined with the DEA having extra millions of dollars (that were previously used to fight marijuana) they could have a better chance at controlling the hard drug trade better...maybe. but at the very least it would hurt the cartels bad. they say marijuana brings 65% of their profits. paying off public officials & judges, paying mercinaries/gunmen, buying guns, and transporting drugs accross boarders all costs money. money they will have less of.
