I hope this isn't from a possible debris-field that is surrounding Asteroid 2012 DA14, which is supposed to fly by today at less than 20,000 miles above Earth.
There are satellites that are higher/farther.
And to put it into perspective, the Moon is 140,000 miles away.
The asteroid is about 150 feet wide.
Here is the news about the Russia strike. :(

    Shit...

Edit - On the last video - the time-stamp is obviously wrong. The other videos corroborate with that last one being legit.

  2. Over 100 tons of meteorites impact earth every day. Most, but not all get eaten up by the atmosphere. Don't worry man. happens all the time.

  3. That's irrelevant when we have the closest asteroid that we know of buzzing buzzing by Earth tomorrow/today.

    Coincidence?

    I hope so.

  4. WATCH: 100 injured by meteorite falls in Russia - NYPOST.com

    Nope - Don't worry.

Confirmed: A meteorite by the AP.

    This is NOT a coincidence.

  5. To me I don't think it's irrelevant because like i said, earth eats up over 100 tons of these a day. It's a very common thing. Also, an asteroid the size of DA14 passes by earth every 40 years at such little distance.

I would say it would probably not be a coincidence if we saw a staggering influx of meteorites hitting earth, that however is not the case... this is just as far as I know though. I don't keep up with those numbers, so i could be mistaken.

  6. Well, this one wasn't eaten up by the atmosphere.

    But I hope I'm wrong and you're right. :)

Damn, that shit sounded like a plane crashed.

  7. We're more vulnerable than we think we are...

  8. I hope I'm right too lol. We are all in this together after all. I wouldn't lose any sleep over it though.

Many meteorites get through the atmosphere, though not many are seen by humans. This is probably because less than 2% of earths surface area is populated by humans. Let alone humans armed with dashboard cams haha.

    Multiple impacts/explosions.

    This is NOT common/normal.

    fuckin crazy. :D

  11. 41 guests and 6 members? Is anyone in Russia (Yuri???)??

    Anyone else hear anything?

  12. holy fuck that is intense.

the first few videos i was like "but i want to see it falling!" then the last one is all "here ya go!".

fuck that explosion sounded like a goddamn war zone, and the fire as it went through the sky is just so fucking amazing to look at.

  13. Holy motherfucker.

  14. No, it's not normal within the human perspective of time. But it's not rare if you look outside of that. The time humans have spent on Earth is so insignificant, so to think we've seen all or even know all is absolutely absurd.

  15. hah this reminds me of Metallicas music video for "All Nightmare Long". its about that time in like the early 1900s when there was a supermassive explosion over a rural area of Russia, completely levelled the area and the video is about how a spore from the meteor could make zombies, so the russians used it as a bio weapon against the US so that after they ruined the US, they could come in and repair it, meaning they would essentially own the US.

the fuckin Tunguska Event. wouldnt it be cool to actually see something like that on video?

  16. Oh man... It would be nuts...

And that video was hysterical. It was nuts. :D

  17. I should have said that. Thanks. :)
