Metal while high?

Discussion in 'Apprentice Marijuana Consumption' started by NinjaToker92, May 3, 2011.

  1. It's really hard to explain. And I've been through the metal phase. I started listening to heavy music when I was 15, and 6 and a half years later, it's all come down to one band.

BTBAM just provides a dynamic of metal, but beautifully artistic, not quite really angry or "brutal" sound.

I can't listen to music that is either:

    A: Constant blastbeat/thrashbeat.
    B: Constant two-step/breakdown.

  2. Seems like you enjoy the more progressive stuff?

Have you heard of Pain Of Salvation?

  3. Not feelin the vocals. I hate the singing that sounds like a mix of Nirvana, Nickleback, Creed, and Disturbed. Kinda hard to explain exactly.

Don't mean to be really picky, but the vocals can make or break it for me.

  4. Tool and dream theater i listen to all the time high. Also metallica, bfmv etc and classics like dio, sabbath, maiden.

  5. Depends alot of that shhh jus kills my high but sometimes ull catch suttin nice

  6. I listen to a pretty broad array of metal bands. Most of the classics like Sabbath, Zeppelin, and the like. Then onto Dio and Rainbow and classic power metal. A lil less 80's metal but i still get the GnR and a few others in there. I'm just big on metal in general, Its saved my life a few times. Hatebreed, Metallica, System of A Down, are my favorites.

    Ive seen in concert:
    Anthrax
    Alice Cooper
    Bullet for My Valentine
    Chimaira
    High on Fire
    Disturbed
    5 Finger Death Punch
    Winds of Plague
    Dying Fetus
    Avenged Sevenfold
    Rob Zombie
and whatever others ive forgot... but ive got a nice list goin

  7. Lamb of fucking god.

  8. I love listening to (get ready for some obscure band name dropping) Chris Barnes era Cannibal Corpse, Deteriorate, Death, Atheist, Impetigo, Autopsy, Obituary, Morbid Angel, Evil Dead, Demented Ted, Insanity, Viogression, Dismember, Entombed, Ripping Corpse etc. I could go one forever.

I especially love listening to these bands high:

The riff makes me feel high when I am sober.

  17. Who doesn't love some metal during/after a good blaze?:smoke::metal:

  18. Damn dude you beat me to it! Cannabis Corpse is a pretty good band actually, awesome death metal, and even more awesome song titles :metal:

Myself, I prefer the most extreme metal possible. Doesn't matter if I'm tokin' or not. Bands like:

    Anaal Nathrakh -(British extreme/black metal)
    Equilibrium -(German folk metal)
    Belphegor -(German black metal)
Blotted Science -(Extreme tech metal from Texas)
    Dark Funeral -(Norwegian black metal)
    Obscura -(German extreme metal)
    Origin -(Extreme metal from Kansas)
    Kronos -(French death metal)
    Nile -(Death metal from SC)
    Necrophagist -(Germal extreme tech metal)
    Opeth -(Swedish progressive metal)
Through the Eyes of the Dead -(Death metal from SC)
Vital Remains -(Blackened death metal from Rhode Island)
Wolves in the Throne Room -(Ambient black metal from Washington)

These are just a few, but some of my favs. I HIGHLY suggest checking all of them out. Very good musicians and some very solid music.

  19. Depends on the type of metal. I can't handle that screaming bs...especially high.
I can only think of a few progressive metal bands
