Metallica if I can ignore the existence The Black Album through St. Anger. (Death Magnetic was actually OK). Megadeth if not, their newest album Endgame is incredible.
That wasn't that good of an album. If you want Slayer, gotta go with Reign In Blood, or South Of Heaven.
Kill Them All, Ride The Lightning & Master of Puppets is the only Metallica I will ever recognize. As for Megadeth, I never got into them. so fuck both those bands. FUCKEN SLAAAAAAAAAYEEEEEER!!!!!!!!
^hell awaits ftw. Slayer > Megadeth > Metallica. Metallica's 'classic' albums aren't that great, but neither are Megadeths, with the exception of rust in peace. RIP is ten times better than anything released by Metallica. regardless i'll break it down killing is my buisness > kill em all peace sells >(or equal to) ride the lightning master of puppets > so far so good rust in peace > and justice for all countdown to extinction > black album ..... st.anger > risk megadeth's always had better riffs and better drumming.
Since this has turned into a discussion of old school thrash, i submit this: Dark Angel > All [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BtRDX9gBeRc]YouTube - Dark Angel - The Burning Of Sodom[/ame] Edit: Also, I submit Morbid Sain and Numskull, two almost unknown Thrash bands better than any of the big 4 [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mz9QjTvkBP4[/ame] [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L_WTyghG-JI[/ame] Edit: One more obscure Thrash band (It has a long intro) [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5yZvrbkNiFg[/ame] OK one more I remebered [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tcrMlCiPQfE[/ame] Edit the last: Out of all of these Sadus is hands down the best.
sorry sir but morbid saint > dark angel . gene h. is a beast tho. sepultura owns metallica too [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mz9QjTvkBP4[/ame]
I think I saw it in the Thrashed Documentary, that when Darkness Descends was released there was a sticker that just read "Over 215 riffs". Fuuuck, that'd make me buy the album as well. Nothing like hard head banging fucken riffs! Dam I wish I had lived in the 80s edit: HOLY FUCK I love Morbid Saint. Assassin is the greatest song by them IMO. Right when it gets to around 5mins and it goes rapid fire yelling, holy fuck intense.
Obviously Christ Illusion wasn't as good as SOH or RIB, but that's like saying gummy bears are better than chocolate bars. Christ Illusion was an amazing album IMO, the song "Jihad" was a musical orgasm as were Cult and Supremacist.
im gunna back markymark up, christ illusion is slayers best album since divine intervention, it's a shame that slayer had to instantly fuck up with world painted black
, yeah dark angel's a fuck ton better then the big4. anyways, time for thrash thread [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VfybLsKZpRI]YouTube - Kreator - Death Is Your Saviour[/ame] [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hrYHIkyp7j8]YouTube - Demolition Hammer - Human Dissection[/ame] [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U87FnYudLsE[/ame]
I can top that [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PZK-NlxUY_I]YouTube - Necrodeath - Necrosadist[/ame] Edit: This and Sadus are about as extreme as old school Thrash gets, atleast from what I've seen, If you can prove me wrong, be my guest.
good stuff, hadn't heard about them before (btw sadus owns). pestilence was a thrash band before they released their dm landmark consuming impulse. heres a track off their overlooked thrash album, if your into old school dm you should check em out(if you haven't already). [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=30nzQlxE1OQ]YouTube - Pestilence - Bacterial Surgery[/ame]
I do know of Pestilence, but I had forgotten they used to be a Thrash band. Edit: OK I'm having fun, so here is some more obscure old school Thrash. The band is actually called Incubus, this is a reissue after the changed their name to Opprobrium [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bb6RoChVyBg&feature=related[/ame] [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oVojBb-UJZk[/ame] [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nk-pPePZz0I[/ame]
If you dont like Megadeth or Metallica, why post in this thread? And youre fucking retarded if you dont think Metallica's first four albums were amazing
