  1. ok so pretty much I switched my lights in my hydro grow over to a 400 watt hps. i let it run as a test before i put my plants in there. i let it get to max temp and added my fans and what not adjusting the temp accordingly before i put my plants into the box. so before i got the hps i was growing with compact fluoros which is basically no heat whatsoever. this is where i fucked up hardcore. i put my plants into the box and closed it all up. and i set a timer for 35mins. the root balls were misted before i put the plants into the box. 35 minutes later my timer goes off and i go check my plants and ALL but ONE plant is WILTED THE FUCK OVER. i would post a pic if anybody thinks it would be able to help them come to a conclusion. i would have posted a pic now but im too fuckin embarassed. i didnt realize it would dry out THAT FAST i checked the temp and it only got up to 86F i didnt think that was a big deal as far as heat stress wise for the plants. i opened up my grow cab and urned my water pump on. its been running continuously for about 24 minutes now and the plants are standing straight up again but the fan leaves are still curled to shit. are my plants going to survive and still grow? will i be able to flower them and produce females successfully or did i shock the shit out of them? should i just start over? im stressin out really bad guys and i smoked like 5 bowls isnt making shit better. can someone just please help me!

  2. Yo man,

I start seeing heat issues on my soil grown Indica sativa mix's at about 86 degrees. If your reservoir temp gets over 73 degrees, you could see problems. If your roots dry up, being in hydro, they could die very quickly. Since you watered them and they perked back up, you were lucky; they should be ok and yield bud as long as nothing else bad happens.

  3. yea man literally 10 seconds after i turned my pump on i watched a couple of them start to stand back up. within 10 minutes they were all back up again. the fan leaves are all fucked up though on every plant. there is one miracle plant that survived. if i get the air circulating more within in the grow room itself.. could that help any with my temps? cuz i got a 80CFM exhaust fan. a 45CFM fan hokked up to my cool tube. and a 17CFM fan blowing over top of whatever is left of my SHITTY ASS "canopy" my water temp is straight its doing good.

  4. Yes circulating air will lower temps to the extent that the hot air under light is mixed with the cooler air around the room. However, exhaust to suck that hot air completely out of the room might also be necessary. Sounds like that's what you have with the CFM fans.

  5. thanks a lot smknvtec for your replies. i went ahead and made the decision to cut off all the dried out fan leaves and veg under hps for another couple weeks. i managed to get my temps under 80 by increasing the size of my intake hole. i probably shocked the shit out of my plants and fucked up my grow but at least i learned that im an idiot lol.

  6. Don't stress about it. You'll learn from your mistakes and you'll be suprised at how tough these plants are!

  7. Indeed, you will learn. And best of all, those lessons learned through fault are often hardened within.

With your next crop, I would doubt you will make that mistake again unless you really are an idiot.

Aside from your lesson, just keep the temps down to a decent level and try not to change anything else to drastically - It makes it difficult to determine what is the cause of a new problem. What has wilted is gone, but what remains should be salvageable... Aside from a bit of a setback on your time table, things should remain the same with the plants as before.

  8. I gotta ask, what type of pump are you talking about air, water? If its an air pump it should never be off. What type of hydro are you doing?

  9. @chimera.

no, i have my air pump on continuously, i was talking about my water pump. and i have a drip system, just without the drippers. i was watering them on a schedule that is equal to about 1.3 gallons a day. but since i switched lights theyve been guzzling the water so i reduced nute% and upped that amount of water per day to 1.8 gallons. is that too much water? they were asking me for it so i gave it to them. they seem ok with it?

  10. Give them whatever they need.

  11. Thats the problem with drip and flood and drain, its just to much adjusting how much and how often, I'd switch to DWC, you never have to consider if your giving them to much water or not enough. Hey but thats me, how about some picts of your set-up.

  12. sure, ill take some pics in the morning before work and post them. maybe i will consider changing hydro systems ill do some reading up on it. thanks for your input.
