Whenever I sleep, which isn't on a good sleep schedule, I don't recall my dreams. Very rarely do I remember them. When I say rarely, I mean once in a blue moon. They aren't too vivid either. I was wondering, would this be because I'm not producing enough melatonin? And if it is, would buying melatonin pills help correct this? Any other insight is appreciated as well.
When you're dreaming you aren't in a deep state of sleep thus not getting the rest you need. If I were you I wouldn't want to dream. That's why people sleep so well after they smoke because you rarely get dreams after.
I take Diphenhydramine hydrochloride, it's the main active ingredient in over the counter sleep aids and I have the craziest of crazy dreams. Melatonin doesn't seem to work for me. With the sleep aids the dreams are so vivid. I suggest you look it up! May be worth a try.
Well...I disagree. There are benefits of dreaming. Whats bad is when you enter REM sleep and dont dream. Dreaming too much is bad for you, I'll give you that Happy Living - When can dreaming be a bad thing? It's all about having a good Circadian Rhythm
Um no. You dream every single night, even after you smoke. Most people just don't remember their dreams after they smoke, although many do. It's impossible to sleep without dreaming. That state, called REM, is absolutely crucial to your body's restorative processes. It accounts for a 1/4 of your sleep time every night.
I went to the drug store yesterday to get some Melatonin tablets. The ones I have, have 10mg of B-6 and 5mg of Melatonin. I took 4 last night and got some damn good sleep. I actually felt good when I got up this morning. I may have taken a good bit for the first time, so I'm gonna take 10mg tonight and see how goes. I don't really recall any dreams really. I even woke up a few times tossing and turning, but after that, right back to sleep. It's quite nice getting a good nights sleep for a change.

If you're taking it under the right conditions (in a dark room with no further exposure to light) there's no need to take that much. If you're not taking it under the right conditions you will throw pineal production of melatonin off and screw up your circadian rhythms, making your sleep problem worse in the long run
Take ONE 5mg pill. I take one every night and I sleep well and my dreams are more vivid. Taking multiple pills is stupid and wasteful.

I've been taking melatonin pills since I was 13. Honestly I've never really had a distinct connection between melatonin and dream recall. If anything, the melatonin helps me sleep deeper, and you only really remember your dreams when you're in a light-sleep stage or wake up for a second in the middle of your dream. At least, I think that's how it works.
You may not be dreaming because you may not be in a deep enough sleep. Taking extra melatonin supplements may help you...if not, then try to see a dr and talk to him about your sleeping habits. He may put you on Rx for sleeping such as Trazodone. I take 100mg of Trazodone everynight and I sleep like a fucking baby. If you don't want meds to sleep, then don't tell the dr. But if it's not getting better than I recommend talking to a professional about it.
I take 3mg of melatonin every night. It's a hormone produced by your pineal gland. People say not to take it over a long period of time because you will become dependent on it to get sleep since your pineal gland wont produce as much melatonin. I fucked up i guess because i take it every night because i can get to sleep quick whenever i want and i do have intense and weird dreams. Like i dream about ex girlfriends and shit. I say it's pretty safe but i wouldn't recommend taking it longer then a month or 2. It is something that would be good for jet lag however.
If you eat sunflower seeds before bed theres a chemical in them thats supposed to cause crazy dreams. I was eating seedless seeds before bed for like a week nd was having crazy dreams nd couldnt figure out why until i looked it up. Try it out sometime it worked for me and i nvr remember my dreams
I've noticed that if I eat a moderate amount of quality honey before bed that my dreams are much more vivid and trippy. I wake up unsure if I'm actually awake for real and in my "normal" life.
